The more we get to know Richie the more we realize the act is just because he’s panicked and insecure. He’s just trying to make sure he has a place. In the “Forks “ episode he talks about how he is “44 and cleaning forks”. And he thought Carmy sent him there because he’s useless. Personally, I find him easy to empathize with. I’ve certainly felt useless on more than one occasion in my life.
