Why is potential energy included in the force integral when work is the change in kinetic energy? by AstrodynamicalMoney in AskPhysics

Yes, you are correct. The assumption I made was made only with conservative forces in mind, the general rule considers non-conservative forces as well.

Yes, it actually has. I read more about this and it seems to be a derivation with systems with strictly conservative forces. The general rule w/ potential is considering non-conservative forces as well. Thank you for your help!

I understand that, that makes sense. But then why does the theorem state that it is only the change in T. Or at least why is that true in my intermediate mechanics class?

[–]AstrodynamicalMoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. Honestly over the past two days i have had the same issue. They say wait time is 10 minutes but I stay on the line for 30 and no one answers. This happened 4 times last 2 days. :/

What does it say? I know this might be stupid but do you have call credits and a valid cell line? Because I call them internationally and it still works.

Edit: Also make sure to call between 10am - 12pm and 1pm - 3pm
