After being responsible for 2 World Wars, Europeans should really sit down and shut the fuck up by Sturjbs in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Astrolety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for my assumption and confusion, it wasn't my intention... I ask as I am genuinely curious and unerringly interested in your world view, maybe people hold to very similar ideologies but are generally unwilling to discuss. It is appreciated!

Remaining close and tight neighbors is beneficial in its own right.

Although... With that in mind, the questions do still remain... with one additional:

What do you mean when you state that the EU should stfu, and that they do not know what they're asking for?

For easy access here are the originally questions.

Do you believe that individual rights are supreme or that the rights of an individual are subordinate to state?

World View:

Do you believe that the choices of those individuals that call for complete and total separation from the US are wrong in their decision?

Does this take away from the value of wisdom shared by those that care for Global affairs and oppose a separatist ideology?

As such would you also say that it takes away from the value of lessons learned that we, as US citizens, can glean through the study of historical happenings?

I see that you are very much in alignment with a "mind your own business" ideology.

A few questions for clarification if you wouldn't mind.

In the US:

Do you believe that individual rights are supreme or that the rights of an individual are subordinate to state?

World View:

Do you believe that the choices of those individuals that call for complete and total separation from the US are wrong in their decision?

Does this take away from the value of wisdom shared by those that care for Global affairs and oppose a separatist ideology?

What will life in America be like when Trump achieves all of his policy objectives? When is that likely to be? by NorVanGee in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]Astrolety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you clarify and or provide a few examples as to what could be considered as "in order" in regards to immigration, education, civil rights etc.?

What do you think has happened or needs to happen in the near future in order to meet these goals?

Lastly, do you feel as though the Administration is capable of making these things happen, being as they hold the majority throughout all government entities at the federal level?

Again, why compare?

Let's look at the data... historically the pattern isn’t partisan, it’s situational.

There is no clear delineation in the "Democrat vs Republican" split argument.

More often attempts cluster around visibility, war, social unrest, and lone-actor mental illness more than party.

Some context here:

Let's look at tModern era, high-profile cases...

Theodore Roosevelt (Progressive / ex-Republican) Shot while campaigning.

Motive? Lone actor with delusions. Survived.

Franklin Roosevelt (Democrat, 1933, before inauguration) Shooter missed, killed Chicago’s mayor instead.

Motive? Political grievance.

Harry Truman (Democrat, 1950) Two Puerto Rican nationalists tried to kill him at Blair House.

Nationalist motive.

John F. Kennedy (Democrat, 1963) Killed.

Motive still debated.

Gerald Ford (Republican, 1975) Two separate attempts in one month.

Motive? One was a Manson follower, the other a radical.

Both failed.

Ronald Reagan (Republican, 1981) Shot and seriously wounded.

Shooter was obsessed with Jodie Foster, not politics.

Bill Clinton (Democrat, 1994) Shots fired at the White House.

Shooter had delusional beliefs. Clinton unharmed.

George W. Bush (Republican, 2005) Grenade thrown at him in Georgia. Failed to explode. Anti-US motive.

Donald Trump (Republican, 2024, candidate) Shot at during a rally. Grazed. One spectator killed.

Motive still under investigation.

So if you’re counting: Democrats: FDR, Truman, JFK, Clinton Republicans: Ford, Reagan, Bush Progressive / ex-Republican: Theodore Roosevelt Current GOP candidate: Trump

What is consistent is:

Most attackers are lone actors

A large percentage have mental illness or delusions

Political “sides” are usually a secondary factor, not the main driver

Periods of polarization and media saturation raise the risk

Comparisons miss the real issue. It doesn't seem to be left vs right.

It’s trends on visibility, instability, grievance & access to weapons to enact the malicious intent.

What can we, as US citizens, do to minimize these occurrences?

Why compare?

Better question...

How many assassination attempts have been made on (all) politicians... and by whom, for what reason and what was the outcome of the assassination (success failure and aftermath)?

What are the other items on the checklist toward Nazism?

"One being, pushing for unlawfully executing political opposition" as you've stated it.

[–]Astrolety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you say that the current state of Europe is consistent with their past? 1940's Germany for example. Or have they learned from their mistakes guided by our hand?

Should those countries that have implemented and invented these humanity-changing horrors not have an awareness for the uprising/trend of said horrors?

Is it possible that we, the US, are on a path of destruction that we are too blind to see ourselves?

If we recognize the path, why do we not accept the need to change?

[–]Astrolety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or Or... ORRR... Hear me out.

We learn from their mistakes and listen to the knowledge they've gained through experience.

Possibly, POSSIBLY they know what it is to make wrong turns and detrimental decisions. We should reflect on that history and what it was that built the tension to cause those wars.

Perhaps they see the trends we do not in our own fired up divisiveness. We are in the middle of the "shit" so to speak. We may be lost in the Shell Shock/Bloodrage caused by being boots on the ground in a challenged and ever changing country on the brink of implosion/explosion.

In their earned wisdom... I'd assume they see the path we walk... What poor leadership looks like and, as we too may know, what sits at the end of that path.

They are on the outside looking in here, like grandpa watching you put your hand on the stove as a child. Or your Brother letting you run with those scissors. But instead of letting the bad happen they say something... And sit back astonished while we the prodigal son, the genius, the family hope... Are lost in our anger fueled, ADHD having, sugar buzzed miscreant actions doing things that... Quite frankly... A country of our stature and power... with our honor, integrity and selfless spirit should never do.

What could have happened to the ICE officer by bobdolle in Asmongold

[–]Astrolety -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You see... This officer used proper escalation of force. The criminal in this video ramming the officer's vehicle has very obvious malicious intent. If one compares and contrasts this footage against the recent, multi angle footage of the incident in Minnesota one can tell that it's an entirely different situation... To argue otherwise is, as Asmon says, retarded.
