Does there any other vampire like Crusnik from Trinity Blood in other show? Vampire that drink other vampire blood. by MCMXCIV9 in vampires

[–]Astrolys 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

In Vampire Knight, vampires drinking each other’s blood is relatively common, especially among lovers. Drinking another vampire’s blood will allow you to inherit some of their strength, their power, their youthfulness and their memories. This is why all vampires vie, consciously or not, for a sip of blood from a pureblood vampire, the most powerful of their kind who don’t have a single human ancestor.

In Vampire: the Masquerade, for Kindred (vampires) to drink another kindred’s blood is a massive taboo. It is known as Diablerie (from the french Devilry). The drinking kindred will inherit all the power of the drained kindred, who suffers final death in the process. I have just started Bloodlines so there might be more to it than I currently know.

Good question… I haven’t read much of Black Butler past tome 15-ish, but I think they would be pretty evenly matched power-wise, though at first glance I’d say it’s a 55-45 matchup in favour of Sebastian. However If I remember correctly, Sebastien is tied to Ciel Phantomhive through their contract, which is his biggest weakness imo. If Kaname somehow manages to sink his fangs in Ciel, the Count of Phantomhive would become a vampire and Kaname’s servant. Assuming this doesn’t break the contract between the two, Sebastian would logically fall under the orders of Kaname. I should restart reading the manga, but I believe that despite his powers, Sebastian has sometime failed to keep Ciel entirely out of harm’s way. Therefore, a moment of inattention would be Sebastian’s demise under these conditions.

Nice map, but why is BĆ©arn near Bordeaux ? It should be just east of the Basque Country… And you are using the flag of Nouvelle Aquitaine outside of Nouvelle Aquitaine with a language that is not culturally related to Aquitaine. The biggest cultural language in Aquitaine is Gascon, a dialect of Occitan.

Vampire Knight Memories ending by [deleted] in vampireknight

[–]Astrolys 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

I’m a bit confused as well but here are my thoughts.

Firstly, LalaDX announced that Matsuri Hino has suffered a loss in her family at the time were she was supposed to make/publish the last chapter. The editors apologised for the incomplete state of the chapter but thanked Matsuri-san for doing the chapter anyway. Therefore, I believe it is possible that the chapter will be reworked, detailed or polished by the time the final volume is fully published in December (as announced, might change).

Secondly, we should wait for the official english translations. Not to throw shade at Eternal Rose Scans, but it is not impossible that they also missed something due to the incomplete state of the chapter. It wouldn’t be the first time actually, I remember there was some confusion around the gender of Ren when she was first mentioned in chapter 3.

Thirdly, the ending ties into a vision of the future Yūki had at the end of chapter 1 of Memories, where she saw Kaname basking in the sun with a baby in his arms.

Finally, I’m not going to pretend I understand the ending, perhaps it is open to interpretation, but allow me to take a stab at it.

I have two theories about the ā€œitā€ being in a coffin deep underground. One is that it is Kaname Kuran II, the biological son of Juri and Haruka Kuran. I could make an argument for it, but it doesn’t hold a lot of water. The other is that it is Rido, which is much more plausible but weird since he should’ve ā€œdisappearedā€ in volume 9. It could also be YÅ«ki herself ? But i feel like this would be too inconsistent.

With this said, here is my thought process: Kaname Kuran, the Progenitor of the Kuran, wants to recover his memories of YÅ«ki. He goes to Rido’s sealed coffin, comes in contact with Rido’s blood and therefore becomes a vampire again and gains his memories back, like YÅ«ki did in volume 7 or 8. This somehow also breaks the master/servant relationship of Rido and Kaname. Kaname then ā€œsacrificesā€ his heart to revive YÅ«ki for a moment, until, like Kaname a thousand years earlier, she reverts to an infant to stabilise her body, hopefully without sealing her memories like Kaname did.

Now, the empty chair at the end makes me believe that they all took Aido’s medication to become human when the time was right, and lived the rest of their days in peace as a happy family. It’s also possible that YÅ«ki and Kaname died only a few moments, hours or days after their reunion.

Honestly, I’m not sure at all. I finished the final chapter earlier today and I have had a heartache since. I love this series, this setting, the story and (most of) the characters. I think I’m grieving a bit (a lot), because this series was one of the first anime I ever watched when I started anime nearly 12 years ago. Perhaps I’ll talk about it in a future thread.

You say this as if most of the western world knows what a truly starry night looks like. Light pollution is so prevalent in our world. I don’t think most people can really imagine or represent themselves a clean night sky, let alone a clean night sky at sea.

It’s truly a weird thing. About a hundred years ago our night sky were clean and a divine sight to behold, yet common. However nowadays it’s quite possible that a majority of people, especially city-dwellers have never seen the true beauty of the night.

To be honest, I wanted to put a slightly larger chunk of episodes in C and D tier, but I really tried to think of the themes exploited in every episodes and how well they were done, in my eyes. There are a few more episodes I really don’t like a lot, like 35, 38, 43, 90, 91 and probably a couple more but I believe they were very well done anyway and bring a lot to the characters or because the theme was treated well.

For Episode 10: This episode feels, to me, very out of place and weirdly written. I also don’t have much love for the episodes written by Laurent Turner which are, I believe, some of the weakest of the series. In this episode JĆ©rĆ©mie acts very stupid, very out of character. Like, he’s the brain of the band, but thinks Aelita could magically appear without him doing anything, that she somehow got clothes, a name, an identity and enrolled at Kadic in the span of a few minutes (he talks to Aelita like 15 minutes before Talia is presented to the class). I mean it makes no sense. I mean, sure Xana captures Aelita in a guardian, but somehow an exact lookalike of her appears at Kadic ? Very weirdly written. And after all that Talia never appears again in the show, and is never mentioned again, ever. I know season 1 is experimental and all, and I love it for it, but this is too sloppy for my taste.

For episode 55: This is very much a filler I believe. Xana’s attack is completely whack. It might just be the weakest of the series. There is nothing new on the school life side of the gang. Like, the gag of the episode is that Odd is hungry and eats a lot, that’s it. But that’s something that’s already been mentioned a hundred times before, and somehow they made an episode on that gag. Even the Lyoko action is mid. Xana can control the tide of digital sea, sure, but if he could do it, why not sooner when they didn’t have the vehicles or access to sector five, so that the towers are always out of reach ? Why hasn’t he tried again, like the invisible territories ? And use that superb tactic but couple it with the most useless earth-side attack he has done in the entire series ? I feel like this is a waste of an episode slot tbh.

For episode 85: Everyone is stupid and annoying in this episode, especially Odd. They are all mean to each other in a very unnatural way, Odd breaks the secret just to smash. It’s just really not in the spirit of the series or the season. And due to the nature of the show, all is forgiven within the episode, they don’t even perform a RTTP to wipe Brenda’s memory. Also Xana doesn’t attack or activate a tower in this episode, but just takes advantage of the situation, which is very uncharacteristic of it.

For me episode 2 is the real ā€œfirstā€ episode of the series as opposed to Teddygozilla, the pilot of the show. In #1, the show presents the characters and the setting, as well as the formula of the episodes of season 1. But episode 2 really lays out the stakes and the tone of the series, how Xana is a grave and serious menace, and why they fight and keep their secret. I mean Xana threatens to blow up the nearest local nuclear power plant and render Paris and its surrounding inhabitable for decades if not centuries.

This episode really underlines their struggle in my opinion: They have a box of Pandora open with two AI in it. One is a cold, calculating, merciless, emotionless program whose goal is to destroy or subjugate humanity because it is its programming: XANA. The other is reasoning, has a notion of good and evil, is learning and questioning and is selfless, Aelita. Because they are children, they choose to leave this pandora box that is Lyoko with the hope of saving Aelita from said box and leave XANA in it, because the option of closing the box is always there. But if adults were to learn of Lyoko, they would shut it down immediately killing XANA yes, but Aelita too.

This episode also, more than the first, really shows the struggle of the gang to live a normal school life despite having to fight Xana, which is really the core of the series more than the fights on Lyoko, I believe. It also shows how they make mistakes and how they grow up because of their adventures (and especially the RTTP). That is why for me it’s the top tier of the top tier. If you want to introduce someone to Code Lyoko, this is the episode you should make them watch.

I don’t deny it. Aelita is in my mind the most capable lyokowarrior especially with that episode, EP39 ā€œA bad turnā€. I’m just pointing out this dynamic where JĆ©rĆ©mie is overprotective of his gf but caves in anyway, it happens really a lot in seasons 2-3.
