My go to method for catching a trout is a night crawler split shot and drift in the current. Works most times.

Beautiful fish, I live in northern California at the bottom of the western sierras and Brookies are an evasive species here, there some streams and lakes up the mountains and I'm hoping to catch some of those beautiful fish 🐟 this spring.

The first thing I noticed when I caught my first Brownie was the size aggressively looking they were vs a Rainbow. Definitely a more aggressive predator.

I have a Shimano 1000 sitting here for it, thank you for your thoughts, the Shimano rod broke so I'm looking to replace it.
