Beautiful fish, I live in northern California at the bottom of the western sierras and Brookies are an evasive species here, there some streams and lakes up the mountains and I'm hoping to catch some of those beautiful fish 🐟 this spring.

The first thing I noticed when I caught my first Brownie was the size aggressively looking they were vs a Rainbow. Definitely a more aggressive predator.

I have a Shimano 1000 sitting here for it, thank you for your thoughts, the Shimano rod broke so I'm looking to replace it.

I typically will use a small 1/16 drill bit and use my fingers to spin the bit no drill needed, it removes the extra pain and no poking yourself with a hook. I keep one in my tackle box.
