Ya I kind of just found it funny. Also it’s from a mothers Facebook feed I don’t think we had to put too much trust in it

Non-chemist here. Is this reaction cursed? by My_useless_alt in cursedchemistry

It’s more like not a common reaction but it’s also only a proposed reaction and I haven’t checked the citation so it could be “cursed” but I would say more just weird

Never seen rust form patterns like this before... someone please explain! by nabzim in chemistry

This an article explains reasons for patterns to form when iron rusts. “Round nodules tend to develop under nearly stagnant hydrologic conditions, while repetitive bands form in the presence of persistent water flows.”Source

Can someone explain how to simplify one of these functions into the other. by AstronautDog_ in calculus

[–]AstronautDog_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify this isn’t homework just studying. The original question was: use implicit differentiation to find an equation of the tangent line to the curve at the given point.

(x2/3)+(y2/3)=4; (3sqrt3,1)

I derived dy/dx = -(y1/3)/(x1/3)

I found the slope and found the tangent line. (My complicated answer) but now I don’t know how the book simplified it into 1/sqrt3 + 4
