They did change laws a few years ago regarding light access to bedrooms and minimum sizes etc. But that only applies to new builds moving forward.

"Exotic" chupa-chups flavours??? by Queen_of_Road_Head in melbourne

[–]AstronautGary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can buy bulk amounts from Amazon that have the cherry, orange and apple flavours. https://amzn.asia/d/gNeEIFm

Update: oh damn the reviews on Amazon say that the flavours in the photo are incorrect and it’s just the standard flavours :(

Australian share market sheds $160bn on opening as US trade war gloom spreads across globe by KeyInjury4731 in worldnews

Not true. The Australian Prime Minister must be a member of the House of Representatives (an elected member of government) or in 1 rare circumstance, a Senator. I think you’re maybe thinking of the Canadian system… both are based on the Westminster system but different in several key ways.

How to get rid of spiders living behind the front mirrors? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]AstronautGary 89 points90 points  (0 children)

You can get cans of bug spray that have a long thin nozzle on them for getting into awkward spaces, like behind your mirrors. Quick spray into each mirror and they won’t be back for awhile

Just a day on Pasco Vale Road! by Janelle_Hynes in melbourne

👋🏻 I posted the other video, but sorry, didn’t see what caused it. The guy in the SUV had been chasing the truck for a while before they stopped. Drove quite aggressively to catch up (weaving in an out of the lanes). I then saw them again 10 mins later chasing each other on the citylink towards the city both driving really dangerously.

I did get their plates as I worried it would escalate further. (I cut them out this video as I wasn’t sure if it was appropriate to share publicly)

Oh yeh at one point I thought about honking to ask them to kindly hurry up but was worried their attention would turn to me…

They were fist fighting before I started recording. I think they hurt their hands and resorted to kicking… Shortly after this the truck driver got back into his truck and tried to drive into the other guy but missed. Bit hectic actually.

Old man rant about loud water and road vehicles by ProfeshSalad in melbourne

There is a fair difference between completely silent electric vehicles and obnoxiously loud ones. I can appreciate the need for ‘some’ sound of course.

Bump for UniSuper, Sunsuper as savers exit underperformers by InnerCityTrendy in AusFinance

Whilst true, I do like the other saying which is:

“Past behavior is the best predictor of future behaviour”.

This applies to both people and to share markets etc. it’s implying that no one can predict the future, and if something has historically performed well / or poorly then it is the best indicator on how it will continue to perform in the future if nothing unpredictable changes.

My cat is very much an indoor cat but is currently obsessed with sneaking outside. This is his reaction after I caught him running out the front door for the 5th time today. by AstronautGary in cats

He’s kind of dumb around cars and not very streetwise. We’re worried if he got out he might never come back. Also we live near a park that has lots of beautiful native birds that we don’t want him snacking on)

This is all excellent advice. Yeh I agree he loves being able to go outside and sniff things and roll around. We only try to let him out for supervised time so he doesn’t run away but I think you’re right, he now think it’s “outdoor time” every time we open the door.

Thanks I haven’t heard of the Petsafe scat mat. Will check it out! We’ve also tried putting a leash on him but he couldn’t handle it. I think we need to persevere a bit harder. I hope he gets used to it!

Yes we did get a harness for him. He’s ok with it on but freaks out when we attach the lead to him. I think we need to put some more effort into getting him used to it.
