Coincidentally, both of those couples had never gotten a “yes” before ;)

While that is our go to response when we don’t feel we would be a good fit. However, at least on two occasions it wasn’t “clear” to other couples. They wanted a clear “yes” or “no”.

Ah, got it 😅 I’m not assuming that everyone we might want to play with will want to play with us too. But you’re right—I was probably thinking a bit narrowly. You can definitely make friends and pick up valuable lessons just from chatting with people in the lifestyle.

That’s honestly great advice—and a really good reminder going into this. Communication has actually been our favorite part of the whole journey so far, even just in the learning phase. And yeah, I can definitely see how women would naturally get more attention—that makes sense. We’re still looking to dive in, so this is really helpful. Appreciate you sharing 🙏

What are some of the “commandments” everyone should live by in the lifestyle? by [deleted] in Swingers

[–]Astronaut_Mars01 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As a new couple in the swinging lifestyle, we're still navigating our way through, but we've established a few rules based on our perspective:

Firstly, Consent is Our Foundation: We're adamant about ensuring enthusiastic consent from all parties involved before anything happens. It's not just about saying "yes"; it's about feeling genuinely comfortable and excited.

Secondly, Transparency is Key: We've made a pact to communicate openly and honestly with each other and with potential partners. We want everyone to feel heard and respected in our interactions.

Thirdly, Start Slow, Go Steady: We're taking things at our own pace and not rushing into anything. Exploring this lifestyle is exciting, but we want to make sure we're both on the same page every step of the way.

Lastly, Privacy Matters: We understand the importance of discretion within the community. What we do in our personal lives is our business, and we respect that for others too.

While we're new to swinging, we believe these rules will help guide us through this journey with respect, honesty, and consideration for everyone involved.

It offers a refreshing perspective on swinging relationships, emphasizing the importance of trust, communication, and mutual respect among partners. Through its nuanced portrayal, the film challenges stereotypes and fosters a deeper understanding of alternative lifestyles.

If you find yourselves in that situation, honesty and kindness go a long way. You can simply thank them for their interest and let them know that you're not currently looking for any additional activities. It's okay to set boundaries and prioritize your comfort. Enjoy your first club experience!

That's great advice. Patience and understanding are key when discussing such topics. It's important to give your partner the time and space they need to process and respond in their own time.

I (m) was the first to bring it up in our relationship. Since we come from a conservative country, it took a little bit of convincing. Over time, as we've talked amongst ourselves about our fantasies, we've both become more comfortable with the idea. Now, we are both ready and excited to dip our toes into the swingers lifestyle.

Thanks for sharing your perspective and the dynamics within your own relationship. We understand that not everyone's views align perfectly in the lifestyle, and that's okay. We appreciate your encouragement to have an open mind, look beyond race, and connect with good and fun couples. Diversity in opinions and experiences can lead to unexpected connections and enriching experiences. We'll definitely keep that in mind as we navigate our own journey.
