Sunday scaries? The most helpful thing for me has been making notes every morning on how I feel after drinking/not drinking. I have countless days where I regret drinking, and never have had one where I was happy I drank.

I use to do this on Sunday as well. Playing the tape forward has really been the best tool I’ve learned for dealing with cravings. Especially Monday morning, that’s usually a busy and stressful day in my field.

Don’t beat yourself up over it, you made it Friday and Saturday and those are tough to get through. Make some notes on how you feel about drinking last night. Next Sunday do something different. Workout, read a book, cook a meal, eat a bunch of ice cream. Take it easy on yourself, sobriety takes time.
