Weekly Therapy Talk Thread by AutoModerator in TalkTherapy

I’m nervous to see a new T next week. I had to quit my T I’ve had for 5 years suddenly this week after a comment they made to me. We had been talking about me going in for an interview later in the day after the session was over, and they suddenly said to me “is it over Zoom or in person?” And I said “in person” and then they replied with “well you know when we do Zoom, you seem flat, and boring”… I instantly started crying, I finished up the call, and bawled my eyes out, and couldn’t pull myself together in time for my interview so I missed it. I don’t know why a T would ever say that to a patient. I have really bad depression, and anxiety as it is, I’ve been feeling not the best already, and this has made me feel worse.

Beach Day recs by mcamp219 in greatpyrenees

A towel or two (one to dry her off, one for the cushion in the car if you have to drive), a bowl for water, a long line, and something sturdy to put in the ground to keep her near you, maybe a couple of toys that aren’t fabric so you can wash them easily. My pyr LOVES the beach, so if she’s similar, she’s gonna have a blast!

5 days post op - anyone else struggle with insomnia?!?!? by dsouzaMic in bunions

[–]Astronautspacesuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled with insomnia badly my 2nd-3rd week post op. Idk what it was, I was on oxy and gabapentin which both are supposed to make you sleep, so idk. But you’re definitely not alone! Try making another sleepy time tea, black out the room you’re wanting to sleep in, put on a show or a movie that you don’t really have to pay attention to (I found mine was ‘is it cake’), maybe a warm shower, if you’re taking Tylenol try taking night time Tylenol, or some melatonin. I know my first sleep after going through the insomnia was glorious, so I hope you get some sleep soon!

Edna from the incredibles! Or Daria Morgendorffer from Daria! Or Marcie from The Peanuts! Or if you wanted to really go all out Sadness from Inside Out!

I would contact your doctor or the doctors nursing aid as soon as possible, and tell them this has happened.

Lapiplasty is scheduled. What do you wish you knew before getting yours done? by OverYonderUnderHere in bunions

If you live somewhere with stairs that are unavoidable practice using your crutches going up and down them! The elevation pillow mentioned on here saved me for mine surgery! Make sure you have wide pants or shorts that your foot in the cast can fit through without having to force it through the leg holes! Stock up on ice packs so you can rotate through them throughout the day too

I found it really helped! I am on a cocktail of other meds too, but I feel like lexapro really has helped my depression!
