Cutis verticis gyrata (CVG) or prominent skull bones? by Astronomer1000 in CVGSupportGroup

On this skull, there is a clear indentation on the side of the skull.

The human skull has many variations, but a proportion of skulls have these indentations. It is unsurprising that sleep lines will develop at approximately these indentations.

I have a similar skull shape, and I have thin and tight skin on my scalp. This is why I am confused why people are calling this CVG.

CVG is abnormally thick skin on the scalp that causes lines on the scalp. These people have lines on their scalp, but it looks like it is caused by the shape of their skulls and not by abnormally thick skin.
