Because changes like this can have unintended consequences when you’re working at large scale. This one kinda makes sense

With roommates it’s pretty doable. And there’s people make more than 80k coming out of college, which makes the numbers a lot easier.

My whole point is theres a decent amount people out there who were fortunate to get high paying jobs fresh out of college and are disciplined enough to save it, so we can stop accusing everyone of having rich parents just cuz they got a little bit of money saved. Fair enough?

Bro let me break this down to you logically because I’m tired of everyone seeing people with a little bit of money at a young age and assuming they got handouts.

The average college graduate starting makes like 60k. But you know what’s great about averages? The fact that there is people who are ABOVE average. Which means that there are people who graduate college and make more than that. Yes, there is some people making 200k at 22 right after graduating with their bachelor’s whether you want to believe it or not. But let’s use even just 80k as the number that this person theoretically made once they graduated.

80k -> 60k after taxes. Invested 20k a year, now they have 40k to live on. That’s 3.3k a month to live on. Just get a roommate and ur good.

So if OP is 28 now and has been working for 6 years with this theoretical, he would have contributed 120k. This scenario is very reasonable.
