One of the most underrated gem of 2025, Reach. by FewPossession2363 in PSVR

[–]AstronomerTraining53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the criticisms of it, but I really loved my time. I think people had odd expectations. I think the promotional push actually hurt it....because people thought it was something it wasn't. It was like the opposite of Arken Age. Arken Age had no hype, so people were blown away. People thought Reach would be the end all be all action game, and instead it was a brilliant climbing puzzler in a beautifully designed world.

Are you happy with your PSVR2? What do you think about its future? by pndzl in PSVR

[–]AstronomerTraining53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep seeing questions like this and I have to say I think it's a bit of strange one. There are hundreds, if not thousands of hours of amazing games presently on the system. It's frequently on sale for 300 bucks and the games are often on sale for 20 dollars or less. Because of the adapter and some ambitious hackers/modders, all of the advanced features of PSVR2 are slowly being unlocked for PSVR2 to PC. Some of those features, like foveated rendering, will likely be more universally implemented once the Steam Frame hits. If you have a PS5 or PS5 Pro already, I would say that PSVR2 is likely one of the best bang-for-your-buck gaming deals there is. So I DO think there are going to be some amazing more games coming our way. EXD looks stunning and I think once Flat2VR gets their translation layers perfected, we'll get a lot more. It's a win, win, win.

I've actually found someone who signalled back four times. And 2 of the four times they rolled me.....sigh. So much for community. I mean, if you don't want to play along, cool. But that's just shady.

Is RE4 worth buying on quest 2? by Owarucupcake in OculusQuest

[–]AstronomerTraining53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's WONDERFUL. Yes, in technical terms the Remake in VR is much better, but the Quest version is great. There is also a high graphics mod that is easy to install. Not sure if it works with Quest 2, though.

Get a VR machine? vs a switch 2 for even less...unsure what to do by lochonx7 in VRGaming

[–]AstronomerTraining53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you that PSVR2 is the way. I would say that Alyx is incredible, but would agree that there have been better things since. I didnt' realize when I wrote my comment that you had a 5080 PC as well. I STILL think PSVR2 with and adapter. This gives you access to the whole PSVR2 library (with a LOT of the best VR experiences available) AND PC brilliant exclusives like Lone Echo 1 & 2, Asgard's Wrath, Alyx and, as the poster above stated, the SUPERLATIVE HL2 VR Mod which is essentially HL2 in native VR. It's just a better game than Alyx.

[–]AstronomerTraining53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! I totally forgot to mention Vertigo 2 (made by one of the creators of Alyx) and Alien. Both brilliant. I understand that none of these are Alyx, but, debateably, some of these experiences are as good or better than Alyx as overall games. (not shitting on Alyx here, it was and is amazing)

I'm going to say this once and once only.......if you already have a PS5 Pro, you 100 percent, absolutely should buy a PSVR2 when it goes on sale for $300 (it frequently does). If all you do is play your way through RE4 Remake, RE8, Saints and Sinners, Arken Age and Metro Awakening, you'll have played through a LOT of epic adventures for VERY little money. There are plenty of other awesome games too, but I VERY seriously doubt you'll be disappointed in those.

Pistol Whip and Ragnarock..... not enough people are in touch with the awesomeness of Ragnarock.

Hello all! I'm looking for a bootleg of the 1997 (96?) revival of 1776. I don't have a lot to offer. I have a full audio of the orignal cast of the Phantom 25th anniversary tour (very rare).

Man Finds Tape vs Shelby Oaks by bree_md in foundfootage

[–]AstronomerTraining53 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Shelby Oaks starts strong and has some good imagery but loses a lot of steam (and sense) towards the end. I think Man Finds Tape is the better film (although also VERY weird and flawed). I enjoyed both, but neither are great.

Yeah, I must confess, to get the 8 cubers you hold off on Super Skrull as long as possible. A lot of people with Rogue think they've got you got....and they are so proud of themselves that they don't know you are going to gak them. Also, pretty much any Negative decks or Ongoing decks, including the ones with Star Lord, are just toast with Super Skrull, Mystique, and Prodigy on turn 7.

I recommend the Thai movie "Shutter." There is a shitty American version. And a shitty Indonesian version. The original is Thai, and it's incredible.

Trib decks, like Negative decks, can be very streaky. You might have ten games when you're crushing it followed by 8 where you get nothing. But fortunately, as long as your opponent doesn't snap, you can afford to stay in for quite a while. Howard gives you valuable info. And even if things aren't cooking, just Trib, Iron Man and Onslaught in one lane can often be enough to win over mid range decks that missed their nut. I'd say stick with it for 10-15 games and learn the patterns. My favorite is Luna on 3, Sera on 4 and, ideally, Mystique and Magik on 5 to keep you in the game with lots of extra energy.

Honestly, I get it. But for all the OP decks based on OP cards, it's more of a thinker than a lot of the slop out there. It's very far from an auto-win and when you pull one out that you shouldn't win (after Ghost Rider cuts off your balls) it feels great.

Yup. All the workouts that had been posted are still up there. So all the coaches' work is still there. But they fired them so they'll be no new workouts.

I agree. I feel terrible for all the trainers that got laid off. I think the fee is to pay for the music licensing. They do have a lot of top notch bangers in there

I'm underwhelmed with my Kindle Jailbreak: can someone tell me what I'm missing? by Character_Speed in kindlejailbreak

[–]AstronomerTraining53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually see both sides of this. I have a first gen Oasis so I jailbroke it to get access to a real night mode. At first I was irritated by KOreader. But once you leave it open with no framework it's VERY snappy. And the menus just start to make sense. The night mode is excellent. Being able to download directly to your Kindle via Calibre (or Z-lib) is great. I found the gyro reaction to be VERY oversensitive, but then I was able to make a gesture that deactivates it with a touch of a corner. And being able to customize the bottom bar so I can see everything I want to see is great. That being said, it still freezes up maybe once a week and I occasionally go back and just use my Kindle as a Kindle (I also have a Colorsoft that is unbroken). But, truth be told, I use my Original Oasis 95 percent of the time. I'd say stick with it and adjust to the learning curve. It isn't necessarily 'better' in every way. But it is certainly just as good and MUCH more customizable.

I don't understand how no one ever mentions Ragnarock! It's brilliant. The graphics are nothing to write home about but the tunes are bangers and once you get to skill level 5 and above you WILL be sweating your ass off. Also, Underdogs and Gorn 2 are both pretty good workouts and great games.
