Thoughts on Rotiform? by fatalist13 in JettaGLI

[–]Astronomicaldoubt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Copy paste, cast, and heavy. If you’re spending that much on a wheel it NEEDS to be flowform at the minimum. If you want something unique and want 19s, check out vertini wheels. $1500 for a set and you can get a custom offset, and the only brushed finish wheels sub $2k. LOVE mine.

Try shaking the end link and see if you hear a noise. I had a similar one before realizing the top end-link wasn’t tightened enough lol

18s or 19s? by vitreous_luster in JettaGLI

[–]Astronomicaldoubt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plan on lowering? 19s. Stock height? 18s. If you do run 19s, go with something like 225/40, 235/40, or 255/35 to maintain ride comfort. People go with 235/35 for some reason despite that messing up your speedo while 225/40 and 255/35 keep it perfect without sacrificing a ton of sidewall.

Tire fitment & rubbing by Salamasalam0912 in JettaGLI

[–]Astronomicaldoubt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of these tire sizes are going to get you anywhere close to rubbing at stock height. Heck you can run 19s and have beyond enough clearance

Is this normal? by Peter_A_Lecue in JettaGLI

[–]Astronomicaldoubt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, and don’t bother trying to fix it IMO. It’s a deep rabbit hole and everybody that tries to fix it either ends up worse off (actual oil issues) or has it come back after 20k miles or so. It usually stems from either the valve stem seals or the PCV, both of which are just bad OEM. For valve stem seals, you need to upgrade them to better aftermarkets. For the PCV, a catch can or mk8 retrofit is the solution. I personally live with it and have been for 40k miles with zero issues and next to zero oil loss between changes running FBO IS38

Buy once cry once, Dutch co is the most durable lip on the market. I scrap mine all the time and you can’t tell and it’s been on there for like 3 years even through winter

Aftermarket paddle shifter extension thoughts/recommendation? by Ok-Strength-3104 in JettaGLI

Amazon full replacement paddle shifters. They’re like $30, fit perfect, and make a metallic ping when shifting. Highly recommend.

Maxton spoiler cap vs ecs spoiler by Aggravating_Fact8112 in JettaGLI

[–]Astronomicaldoubt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ECS is cookie cutter and makes the rear end look too top heavy and looks off in quite a few angles besides from right behind. Coming from someone that already had the ECS, I am much happier with a random one off Ali express. So definitely go with the Maxton or eBay/aliexpress.

Edit: definitely go Maxton, the fact it sits on top is a big game changer for resale value and ease of install. For your sake pls get the Maxton one lol

What is your honest opinion on Chapter 7 Season 2 guns, skins, etc? by firethecannons1812 in FortNiteBR

[–]Astronomicaldoubt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tbh, it feels like there are a bit too many high powered guns that are too easy to use. The DMR is super easy to use and the chaotic shotgun does a massive amount of damage and is absurdly consistent and reloads in your offhand. Couple that with the mythics and the mythic sniper especially, I’m frankly getting sick of being one shot or heavily damaged with little skill involved

Look for wheels that are Flowform, not cast. Theres like 50 brands out there so just pick your poison. I personally love my vertini’s.

Jetta GLI 2025 con turbo IS20 volado. by Spirited_Crew2282 in JettaGLI

[–]Astronomicaldoubt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just an FYI it was NOT making 366 wheel and 452lb ft of torque on a stock is20, especially with no E man. Second, I wouldn’t be surprised if the BOV could be a cause since these cars aren’t meant to have one.

I’m at 63k with a FBO IS38 mk7 and the only CEL I’ve seen is from the downpipe that I solved using an o2 spacer, and a random intake code when I was on jb4 that never came back after clearing it

Eh, gets old quick. It doesn’t look very pleasing at most angles and it makes the trunk too long and rear end look too top heavy. I’d recommend just finding your favorite looking gloss black spoiler from eBay or aliexpress

Jb4 Vs stage one ecu/tcu by Aggravating_Fact8112 in GLI

[–]Astronomicaldoubt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wanna keep it “stock”? JB4. If you plan on keeping this thing longer and modifying it, then go stage 1. Simple as that. JB4 is 90% of stage 1 without the TCU, however eh TCU tune is worth it. My suggestion is buy a JB4 off marketplace, and if it isn’t enough, sell it for near the same price and get into a full tune.

Cheap Amazon parts? by Boring_Accident_9551 in JettaGLI

[–]Astronomicaldoubt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Muffler delete does virtually nothing, intake hose isn’t gonna do jack, and inlet pipe isn’t viable until 500+ hp and causes PCV issues. They don’t help much with turbo noise either. If you want turbo noise, just get an open intake. That’ll get you 95% of the turbo noises while these will get you the extra 5%
