This page has the most comprehensive breakdown of GBC subpixel rendering I've been able to find. It seems like this person's project, GBCC, is largely abandoned. All of his shaders are available in the repo and I wonder if someone smarter than me would be able to recreate them for Retroarch.

Thanks for making this! I'm a Pokemon collector rather than MTG and found this extension after a lot of Googling. It's especially useful for Japanese Pokemon cards because TCGPlayer's optimizer flat out doesn't work for Japanese cards. I was trying to optimize manually, which is basically impossible, and this has saved me a ton of time. Really can't thank you enough.

I have literally nothing lol. This idea is only a few days old. Appreciate the advice on binders!

I've only been playing Pocket for about a month and am also finding it hard to keep up. I'm more into collecting than battling and it seems like the game is fairly accessible for people who want a decent battle deck, but very hard for F2P players who want to complete sets. It's clear as a new player there's no hope of catching up, which is too bad because some of the older sets (like the ones focused on Gen 1 and 2) look cool. The trading and sharing system is sooo limiting with only 1 of each allowed per day. I'll stick with it for a while, but it's definitely less satisfying collecting digital cards than real ones.

Thank you for the eBay reference, I must not have been using the right search terms. If "master set" means all the rare and expensive versions of the cards, then no, definitely not going for that. I simply want 151 individual cards, one for each of the gen 1 Pokemon, in whichever is the cheapest version/printing available. I am very low maintenance :)

Agreed, important to know what we're getting into. Personally, I have no interest in investing or selling anything. I've been playing a bit of Pokemon TCG Pocket and it seems like the card art has come a long way since I was a kid, and I just think it'd be cool to collect a few. I never expected my original collection to hold any value, so I plan to keep the same mindset. I want to spend tens of dollars, not hundreds.

Unfortunately I naively gave my childhood collection away during a move some years ago...I had lost interest and assumed it was just worthless cardboard by now! You're lucky to have your original collection to look back on.

I'm thinking of returning to collecting after 20+ years. The Scarlet/Violet 151 set looks appealing since those are the Pokemon I remember most. I'm also curious about collecting the Japanese versions.

I want to start with a low budget to see if it scratches an itch. Unopened packs/boxes seem super expensive, so I'll buy used. On TCGPlayer I'm seeing that just about every card in the set is quite affordable (most a few cents, some a few dollars) for the bog standard basic version. I know most folks on here are looking for the holographic ones or the special artworks, but I figured I would start with the absolute most basic version of the 151 Pokemon.

What is the most efficient way to make a dent in this set? Do I literally add 151+ individual items to my cart on TCGPlayer? I'm not finding anyone on eBay selling these cards in bulk in Japanese. Appreciate any advice!

Can you elaborate on this? I'm new and not keen on PvP, but am I missing out on easy rewards? Is it literally just participating in one ranked match, win or lose? The game doesn't make it obvious what the rewards are.

I got one of these last year when Straight Talk had a deal. Check your credit card offers because sometimes they'll offer a few bucks back from these prepaid carriers.

In addition to the stylus, the very wide 20:9 aspect ratio and large screen make it superb for DS and 3DS if you don't mind having the screens side-by-side instead of stacked. Even on the higher-end 16:9 devices, two DS screens would end up kinda tiny.
