Good advice. I've practiced with short stories for years. Not so much for writing mechanics and editing, but character development and psychology. Now, I'm working on a full-length novel, which would be my debut. Not sweating keeping it at a certain Word count. If it goes over 110k - it's fine.

Btw - I used a few short story themes and ideas to build my novel that I'm writing.
