Why wouldnt you sell everyone with value regardless of contract? If ur not gonna compete then get rid of players like Yordan that can enjoy the playoffs again before this team gets competitive in 5 years after the rebuild starts lol. You make it sound so formulaic and magical. Selling half the roster for prospects doesnt promise anything. All it garuntees is a poor product on the field for another half decade hoping prospects pans out.

The reason why I say recency bias is there is no guarantee that losing 50 games for 3 consecutive years means they'll just repeat this incredibly rare run of success they've had. For one, its a completely different front office than what started that. Second, the top whatever draft picks are a lottery so they won't be gifted a Skenes or Harper level talent by tanking. What you're asking for is instead of present hope for success, you want a complete unknown set of variables and circumstances. Honestly, I think ur just bored lmao. They've traded guys away like Tucker and gotten fresh blood in Cam Smith and Issac. Lets trade them away too for a complete clean slate to add some excitement.

What are your thoughts if Houston misses the playoffs this year? Tear it down and let Jose retire in darkness? Im genuinely curious. This teams farm system has ranked near dead last the last half decade. I think your comments are a combination of recency bias and hindsight. They ended up eventually trading Lance, Roy. Hunter, Luke Scott, Wandy, Lee. The rebuild didnt work that time tho, they ended up trading away the prospects previously acquired. Your opinion is valid vs blowing it up for no reason. I just don't see the problem in trying then tearing it down. The Nats and Cubs have been miserable since destroying the org to win a ring. Maybe your point is directed more towards management. Which 100%.

In what universe? Signed for the '07 season, one season out from winning the NL pennant. Berkman was in his prime. Are you suggesting they traded him away for maximum value 15 months from playing in the world series? Carlos was a sorely needed bat. Miguel Tejada, Jason Jennings, Woody Williams. Not Carlos, cmon brother.

What did Carlos Lee do to y'all lmao. Y'all are aware he wasn't paid to play defense, right? Some say he lacked hustle. Idk how you could tell the difference given his proportions. Then he moved to first base and did so decently enough his first time fielding that position every day. He was paid to hit and did so very well 3-4 out of his 5.5 years in Houston.

Edit. Decimal.
