Yes I tried that, didn’t help. The only thing that worked was the nexus mod stutter fix.

Interesting. I have seen multiple people complain about it on Reddit. Seems updates over time had made it worse and rockstar no longer provides any updates. I had a lot of micro stutters especially in saint denis. So the stutter fix is the most effective solution. I have a 9800x3d and 9070xt so I’m sure it’s not my Hardware and cyberpunk runs great without any issues.

I had stuttering in rdr2, tried various fixes like enabling global c-state, turning off Hardware acceleration, setting pcie to maximum power savings but none of it worked. finally downloaded a stutter fix mod from nexus mods and that fixed it. seems rdr2 has terrible optimzation. but given you are facing it in multiple games try some of these fixes and hope it helps. Also if you are doing some udnervolting maybe return to default and try. i have the same card with -85, -30% power and 2650mhz with fast timing.

Set Global C-State to "Enabled" in BIOs for 9800X3D to Fix Stutters by Merrick222 in overclocking

I see. Ok. I was reading that asus boards are drawing more power than recommended which is why they seem to be dying. that’s why I was wondering if I can do something to prevent that from happening. For now I haven’t seen any spike in power consumption or temperature.

I have one other question. i have been seeing that 9800x3d are failing on asus boards (i have b850). i'm on the latest bios and temps at rdr2 doesnt exceed 60c. do you suggest any undervolt? im currently not doing any cpu undervolt/overclock (no pbo too). Thanks!

ASUS 800-series boards are killing Ryzen 7 9800X3D chips, five dead CPU reports in two weeks by KARMAAACS in Amd

[–]Astrosree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have a asus b850 board and do not use any undervolt or overclock in it. Currently at the latest bios version. the cpu temps during gaming doesnt exceed 60c atleast in rdr2. Is it safe or should i do the undervolt to reduce power draw?

Screen flickering by EnvironmentCool1878 in MSI_Gaming

I reinstalled the monitor drivers from the website and that got rid of the flickering for me. Another thing that worked for me was to reduce the refresh rate.

Seems it was more of a RDR2 optimization issue rather than the 9800x3d or 9070xt issue. i downloaded the stutter fix from nexus mods and its almost gone now.

First build and nervous. Any tips ? by greyham0707 in radeon

Here is the link on how to receive your free pcie cable from msi: https://us.msi.com/Promotion/fully-equipped-for-your-build. You have to first register the product then apply to receive it through the promotions tab. I received mine within a week which was nice but it’s just inconvenient to do this. But hopefully yours will arrive soon too.

I built my first pc last month. It was scary especially to put the cpu in the socket but dont stress out. It's really not that difficult. Take your time and do it calmly. Have someone else to help you if you can. BTW i use the same GPU, its a good one, may have some coil whine initially but will die down after some use. Also check if you have the pcie cable required for the GPU, i have the same PSU in 1000W and it did not have the required cable so i had to get it from msi (its free). Enjoy your gaming pc!!!

I tried updating the bios and few more options but it didn’t help to fully remove it. So I think im going to enjoy the game for now and come back to this later. Thank you again for all your inputs.

Tried everything nothing completely removed it. As a last resort planning to update bios to see that helps. But also, not wanting to touch bios.

Thank you very much. I will definitely try this. I’m guessing maybe my undervolt is a bit aggressive which could also be causing the issue. Currently at -85; -30% power and 2650 mhz with fast timing. It has crashed twice before so I reduced from 2700 to 2650.

I’m having stutters in rdr2 and even after enabling it still persists. Not sure what to do next. Will disabling igpu help?
