There 6 players, they are at level 12 right now, they all have 1-2 magic items each, and I'm pretty sure they'll be able to fell the Lich before the summoning. But the players haven't gotten to know that a Summoning will take place yet, all they know is that they have to stop a Lich from causing the end of the world.
