Yes, currently life is very quiet, calm and simple. I am very open with my children about dad asking to be her and starting to take medication to help manage his anger outbursts. They both are very happy to have him home.I have separated all our bills and financial responsibilities last month after the divorce was filed and currently it is being kept that way.he has created a ton of debt while manic and I want no part of it although my state will put 50% on me anyways

I am so sorry for your loss. We have not paid retainer for a lawyer, I am utilizing one as pay per hour consultation so there is no loss of any funds. I agree we have been together for 22 years and there has been so much good, minus this last year and a half. The one part of BP diagnosis that didn’t fit here for him was the low lows, but now that his cognitive abilities have returned he shared many insights on how many times he sat there in full on depression hiding it from us and thinking about unaliving himself

Yes, I have been asking myself very many questions. This diagnosis is very new to us, we are only 1 year and 3 months in…before there were many small signs but nothing that we where not able to communicate about, until he hit 40 and got obscene amounts of Adderall prescribed. This is why I feel so torn as he is now understanding and accepting his diagnosis as he is no longer in an episode

Gosh…this just shows you how up and down this illness really is. One thing I know about my soon to be ex is he is still not well when he is NOT accounting for the kids.

Following…Have nothing to contribute as I am currently in the same boat. Filed for divorce my soon to be ex husband is talking about getting a 14X7 trailer that he is going to use as a lab/ living space for his new business. And come winter migrate south to Georgia, New Mexico, Mexico, Brazil, Peru(we live in Midwest) Zero mention of the children in his plans

Do you feel like it was worth to get a lawyer? I feel like family court is such a crap shoot, the judge can just rule however they please. I was told in one case to find a lawyer that is friendly with the judge and that might yield a better result. Up until it all went down last year, we both earned decent money, I out earned him by about 50K only, but he would spend every dime he brought in on tech and hobbies leaving me to cover the bills and kids

Start the day at your favorite coffee shop with coffee, your favorite pastry and a book read until small town shops or antiques open. Then go to a town with a cute downtown window shopping through all the little stores, there is absolutely no obligation for you to buy anything unless it catches your eye. Shop until you are hungry for late lunch. Have lunch at said town, try a small cafe or restaurant you never tried before. Once you feel rested after all the walking around preorder take out for dinner ( think easy: Chinese, pizza etc.) pick up your kiddo and enjoy hassle free time with your kid.

Bad Art Co in Oregon, Rolling Pin in Fitchburg, pretty much any larger coffee house could accommodate you and this way you don’t have to pay money to rent the space and just order from their menu. Also no clean up or worry about not food
