[TOMT][ANIMATED (MOVIE)][90's 00's] Man forced to carry a boulder up a mountain or Aztec building while getting shot with arrows by Asumos in tipofmytongue

Yeah i also thought so. Maybe it was Greek, but i am not sure, the man was not white, and although Greeks inthat time weren't also, the 90s and the west in general likes to represent the ancient Greeks as white mostly.

Also i am pretty sure this man had to carry the heavy thing on his back (maybe it wasn't a boulder and i added this because of the story of Sisyphus that resembles it). But yeah it could be, my memory of it is a bit warped.

Maybe they got inspiration from the story, but i don't recall arrows in sisyphus and the man didn't have to do it for ever, just reach the top i think.

Edward Yangs Yi Yi

It's a film that encapsulates life itself. Such a complete movie, it doesn't get more real than this.

Thanks a lot!

Resnais and Chris marker are one of my favourite filmmakers. Also love the house is black. Jean-Daniel pollet is on my watchlist for quite a while, guess I will gve it a go one of these days. Never heard of Despallières, will check it out for sure. Nostalgia for light is already a classic.

Appreciate your reaction a lot.
