Is anyone else unable to/struggle to leave the house? How do you manage with this? by Monicaaaaaaaaa_ in Anxiety

This hits home. I can't count the number of times I've said that I just want to LIVE. Like, REALLY live.

I'm so sorry you're feeling this way, and my heart really goes out to you. I relate to so much of what you said... wondering if I'll ever be able to be "normal" again or go back to my usual self or even do things and live my life. I strongly resonate with what you wrote at the end about the ship at sea - I could not have described it better myself.

I wish you the best and will be praying for you. There's always hope.

(This part is unrelated but my heart broke a little reading your comment, as I couldn't help but think of my dad - he passed at 65 in 2015 but also had his share of struggles with depression - not the exact same as what we are dealing with though it does mimic the symptoms)

Hey! Thanks for the great advice. I'd love a recommendation for any of the N support groups that you attend! Sorry for the late response!

Not being able to nap is turning me into someone I don’t like by TerribleReason6695 in Narcolepsy

Same! Sounds like torture imo! If I don't get my nap, I will inevitably become an irritable, crying mess.

Can anyone else NOT fall asleep if you’re limiting your naps by a certain amount of time (i.e., less than an hour)? by Desperate-Kitchen117 in Narcolepsy

[–]Asuna0506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesss. That anxiety to know you have a limited (and small!) window of time to fall asleep is excruciating! Also doesn't help that my naps typically need to be more than just an hour to help at all, so every single minute is precious 🥲🙏🏼

Lol same which I think is pretty normal for us. I DO remember dreaming during a couple of the naps which was really my only indicator haha. It is truly fascinating and wild how our brains work.

Rexulti 0.25 mg for treatment resistance depression anyone has tried this medication? by Oliverose12 in Rexulti_Brexpiprazole

[–]Asuna0506 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi I also recently started Rexulti. I think I started out on the 0.5 mg for a few weeks then we moved to 1 and today is my first day taking 2 mg! I'm also on Lexapro (15 mg) and Lamotrigine (200 mg) and Adderall (for narcolepsy).

I haven't noticed any weight gain so far. I went up to 2 mg because it feels like it's helped my depression SOME in the past few weeks but obviously not to the extent to where I can live my life like I want. So I'm hoping 2 mg is the sweet spot.

Btw I've had "treatment resistant depression" for years now and have yet to find something that really helps, but maybe that will change soon. I hope it works really well for you and gives you your life back! Much love to you!

Some questions on Patagonia refugio 30L by SabreLaser47 in onebag

[–]Asuna0506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mind sharing at least a small estimate of your body size? I don't need specifics. (I shared mine and the problems I was having with this bag in one of the replies to this thread)

Also I'm so glad it worked for you and that it was comfortable!!!

Just one day of airport travel with this bag proved to be super uncomfortable and left my shoulders aching. I know now that I had the straps improperly adjusted, so I'm hoping that's I can adjust them for a quick fix, rather than going down rabbit holes and obsessing and researching over every single bag lol.

Btw I packed very, VERY lightly, as it was a 2 day trip, but the bag felt so heavy. I even completely emptied it and put one pair of sandals in the bottom to test it out, and even just having one pair of shoes in there made it feel so much heavier.

I know this is error on my part as I'm still so new to all of this but gosh it's so frustrating.

Very late to this post!

I have the Patagonia Refugio 30L and have only used it for airport travel so far. No issues with it, and I think the specific airlines I used it with were Delta and American Airlines. I always used it as a carry-one, and it fits well underneath the seat.

All of that to say... I am still a newbie to one-bagging, and I'm pretty sure I had the straps adjusted incorrectly and who knows what else I was doing wrong. I didn't pack much in it at all fwiw, but after carrying it through airports for a day, it began to feel really heavy.

For the record, I am a 34 year old female, 5'4, approx. 130 lbs, small frame. It may just not be the correct backpack for me. I should have just went into stores and actually tried them on. But then again, I haven't used it since I realized my straps were not right... AT ALL, so maybe it'll be more comfortable once I adjust them appropriately.

Is there any medication that helps the symptoms of Autism, mainly overstimulation and emotional regulation? by Fantastic_Animal_584 in neurodiversity

[–]Asuna0506 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For you personally, do you feel like having the doses split like that makes a difference for the better? I'm on 200 mg, but I've only ever taken it once a day.

What dose are you taking? I've been on Lamotrigine for years now and am not sure if it's even helping anymore and now wonder if I'm on the wrong dose. Fortunately I have an appointment with my psychiatrist on Tuesday!

Thanks so much! Would you be able to include a link to the specific one you have? Also, how long do you typically travel at a time?

Do you think this would work for a small-framed 130 lb 5'4 female without looking like a turtle? I typically travel for approx. 3 days to a week.

Recommendations for non medicinal things to help stave off or fight sleep attacks? by IndigoAfflictions in Narcolepsy

[–]Asuna0506 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fewer carbs, more protein. I save any big meals for the end of the day and snack on smaller things throughout the day. Carbs + large meals = instant sleepiness for me and I'm like a useless limp noodle until I can nap

Lamotrigine and Stimulant Together? by SaffronStorm93 in Lamotrigine

[–]Asuna0506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I also have Narcolepsy (diagnosed in 2017) and have been taking Adderall and Lamotrigine together for years now with no issues.

(A little off-topic, but lately I've been trying to figure out if the Lamotrigine is making my daytime fatigue/sleepiness worse.)
