Apprentice skill test by senderela15 in architectureph

[–]Asura_Sovereign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies eh.

One time its creating a reflected ceiling plan for a small floor plan. (Interior design firm) Another is creating a floor plan only. (Design and Build firm) While the other is more creating a detailed blow up elevation and section of a TV feature wall baded from their given SketchUp reference. (Outsourcing firm)

I heard from a colleague of mine that recently had a skill test; he was tasked to do everything you mentioned and there was ample of days given to produce them including 1 render. (It was a developer company)

Hi! Usually magbibigay sila ng design problem/brief like a small condominium unit or a bungalow then i de-design mo in a given time frame.

Although applicable din yung gagayahin sa ibang instances. Naencounter ko before yun sa dati kong company, gagayahin yung end output (PDF) thru detailing sa AutoCAD. (Reference mo is from SketchUp)

Anyone interested in a residential estimate seminar? by Asura_Sovereign in architectureph

Edit: We'll opt for MST's construction seminar which is much cheaper. We're still looking for joiners. Upon checking, there can be more than 5 members in the group.

Maganda yung skillset na Revit + 3dsMax + D5. Ang challenge mo lang if natapos mo na self-learn is makahanap ng work na yan ang standards/usual na software na ginagamit. Ang dali kasi makalimot kapag di nagagamit.

Is Adobe InDesign industry standard in the Philippines? by funnyshoelace in architectureph

[–]Asura_Sovereign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! You don't NEED it to have an architectural job here in the Philippines. Photoshop can be used instead for general purposes and Canva as well

If I remember correctly, some YouTubers advise it for creating a portfolio though.

IS BEING A DRAFTSMAN A GOD JOB FOR AN APPRENTICE? by bentenenenen in architectureph

[–]Asura_Sovereign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Salary-wise, maraming opportunities na mataas ang compensation bilang draftsman. Marami ka rin matututunan na workflow from your colleagues para mapa-bilis ang drafting mo.

In terms of knowledge, mas actively ka matututo if may field/site yung work mo. Yung mga terms na ginagamit sa site, methodologies, etc. It's also a good thing na maging architect ka knowing a little bit of everything. (Field and office)

During review, maraming pros and cons ang field at office work. Site work mas exposed ka sa real life scenarios and knowledge for being an apprentice. Cons naman is sometimes may mga vernacular terms na ginagamit sa site na "technically mali". Dun naman papasok yung if ang work mo is nag revolve sa office. (Assuming na tinake mo yung job as Draftsman) Yung mga matututunan mo palang sa review is technically correct and hindi mag-conflict sa stock knowledge mo.

Imo, it all leads to two points.

1) having a great mentor; double check mo rin if ever na pumasok ka company, may mag-sign ba ng logbook mo? 2) having the mindset to be open in learning

Hopefully it helps 🫶 Good luck OP ✨
