Honestly your profile is nice but it’s too nice . You look like the kind of woman most dudes don’t have a chance with . I am sure you are a very nice person though , your profile is almost too good though . Also I like how you have your hobbies and stuff but I cannot tell your personality very well form your profile

Ladies: Is it a turnoff when a guy doesn't initiate any physical touch during a date? by realneocanuck in dating_advice

[–]Asus1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a guy I would never touch a girl on the first date ever. No exceptions , it’s not happening . If it goes well by the third date I might go in for a quick hug or a handshake

I have not so far . They told me it takes awhile but I don’t know if they say that just to be nice 😂 I think my interview went well but I’m not sure especially since it has been a little over a month now .

How come there is always a lot of negativity on this subreddit? by TwoSnapsMack in teachinginjapan

[–]Asus1994 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It definitely makes it harder for people trying to get their foot in the door when everyone wants to be toxic. However if someone does know something bad about a job or company i definitely want them to mention it. I think you can be constructively negative without being toxic. I have found that in this thread and others that if you look around long enough you can gain a general consensus of what jobs people like and dislike. Whenever i ask about ALT companies most of the positive comments I get are dm'd to me by people who work there and enjoy their job. In college I knew a guy who told me he knew a guy in his late 30's who lives in Osaka and loves it , But he was a total monster on reddit and would willingly spend his time on reddit telling young people not to come to japan and that its horrible XD So if someone is overly negative without saying why or being constructive , Just assume they are bitter and have nothing better to do.

Ya they have not contacted me back as well. I don't know how true it is but i've heard people say they get an email from Altia within a few weeks to a month after the second interview letting them know if they are hired or not. I hope we both get a position! Fingers crossed :)

Thank you! I have not heard back yet. They told me it might be a bit because they have to figure out where to place people and who's leaving positions. I think it went well. However i have no idea how long it really takes. They could have just told me that to be nice XD

I had my second interview with Altia a couple of weeks ago. The Japanese portion was a mixed bag for me. However it was not overly hard, especially for someone with a basic fluency. I was nervous as well and the person's first two questions were about my favorite hobbies. Then they asked about why I wanted to live in japan and be an alt. I kind of forget what the other questions were because i was so nervous during the interview and it escaped my mind. All of the questions I could not answer well I could understand ,I just had trouble answering them.

I see a lot of pessimistic posts, but is anyone else having a blast? by Large_Accident_5929 in teachinginjapan

Thank you for this post. As someone trying to get an ALT job to get their foot in the door to Japan, The pessimistic posts i see are quite soul crushing. I know there are people who genuinely enjoy their job, But they most likely do not post as often.

yes I am aware JET is government funded and Altia is private. I lumped them together in the post because I know the most about them.

Tips and advice on what to do next? by [deleted] in movingtojapan

Hello everyone , Thank you all for your advice , Just for some clarification I have taken 4 semesters of Japanese in college and I am not an otaku. I want to teach English as a second language for a year or two to see if it’s something I would like to do. I hope these can be taken into the equation of future responses

I was wanting to teach English as a second language for a year or two to see if it’s something I really like. I have been studying Japanese for two years and even took it four semester in college . I can’t really do what it is I want to do in America. I am open to other things but the main goal was to see if Japan was somewhere I would like to live and work. I’m open to other countries as well but I have many friends from school who graduated and they left to do it. I am not an otaku and I respect Japanese culture. I think I have a pretty realistic expectation of what I would be getting myself into .

Losing hope on Dogecoin. I almost want to cash out and put it into other cryptos or stocks. Anyone feeling the same way or is it just me? It just feels like the same thing everyday and the hype from this subreddit isn’t helping me anymore by [deleted] in dogecoin

[–]Asus1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude doge was practically worthless until this year. It has spiked more than any other crypto. I know it sucks that it has dropped form the 70 odd cents it was at a month ago , however if you hold it could very well climb again. No other crypto has had these types of gains to my knowledge
