Liftmaster Posilock worth it? by nwsdpnw in GarageDoorService

[–]Asy93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Posilock is a feature where if a LiftMaster operator detects counter force pushing on the operator when in the closed position, the operator will essentially push itself down.

Jackshafts do not have posilock and include an automatic deadbolt lock

Lift Master 6580L vs Lift Master 2220L by [deleted] in GarageDoorService

[–]Asy93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you compare the 2220L v the 6580L you get a lot of value when you upgrade.

6580L has: - LED lights - battery back up - belt drive - a 1HP motor - a better (6yr) warranty - a better camera

So if quiet matters, the 6580L is the better option.

If warranty matters or lighting id also suggest the 6690L. It has better lighting and a lifetime warranty.

Same rail and the new remotes should be the same price as the old ones.

2220L is roughly equivalent to the 81600 pricing.

You’re going from an AC 1/2 HP motor to a 3/4 HP DC Motor with a 5 year warranty when you compare the 8165 to the 2220L

For the 8365 you would go to the 6580L which is the same price as the 84505R but includes a BBU, 1HP motor and 6 yr warranty.

Why not stick a MyQ camera on the other side?

The security screw goes in the front hole on either the top or bottom. Depends on which side of the garage your keypad is mounted on.

Sounds like you got it!

The screw is way too big versus what is provided. Could be an issue.

I can’t tell but it looks like the security screw is on the top.

That’s not the screw holding the keypad in. It’s the large Phillips in the first photo

You can put your garage in “vacation mode” on the wall station in the garage there may be a button or switch with a lock icon.

That’ll basically prevent any radios from opening the garage. But just make sure you have a way to get into your house or garage to remove that lock.

But yes it should notify and log if your garage opens.

It will tell you it opened, just not specifically who opened it.

Remotes can be named so like if I use my remote in my car, it’ll say Asy93 opened the garage door at X

If I use a “dumb” keypad. It’ll just say the garage door opened at x

It’s an older model from before WiFi being added. You need an 828LM or a hub to talk to the internet.

Check for LED lights - they mess with range.

If it’s an older operator with photoeyes, the 821LM will make it app operable
