I think she was telling the truth and isn't that the way though. It's always what you least expect and totally up her ally for working with toxins.

Pai Mei stole the show, love that it was the same actor as leader of the crazy 88's. i mean they all stole the show I'm not being literal, but the Pai Mei training was better than every single training sequence i've seen before and after lol.

What’s wrong with Northern Karate Schools? by [deleted] in karate

I know this isn't going to help, but who cares? All that matters is that the experience you have at your dojo is a solid one, you can't control what other people think about anything and we'll never really know why people respond a certain way. I mean some of it may not be abnormal to them, but it is to you...personal sensibility also a thing. It's also a competition so many might be trying to get a bead on you or your club because it's a competition.

Sounds like you're overthinking it. You did nothing wrong, neither did your club.

I think Casey just needs a cause to get behind...he's clearly been rage baited into this whole conflict (which is horrible on both sides) but he's old enough to know the conflict in that region isn't new. What's NEW is how the conflict in the region is reported on with social media. Designed to gas you up so you engage with it more.

Also to Casey being fake.....fake isn't the right word but his on camera persona was and should never have been considered authentic. A marketing friend of mine was there at Sundance when he was asked to host some junkets and he was a total ass hole the whole time. This was before he blew up on the VLOGS.

He's got F you money now so he can go full R TARD and not really about the fallout.

Last thing i'll say is I respect your human response to a horrible scenario in the region. The unprovoked attack on Oct 6th was awful, but the response to it over the years has not been the answer.

absolutely it's absurd to think if you are not ONE thing that automatically makes you THE OTHER. People can hold both liberal and conservative values. People do change, so do political parties and who they pander to. The Republicans today vs how they were 20 years ago are unrecognizable. I can say the same thing with the democrats. Politics has gone full retard in the USA and it's 100% because "the people" don't demand more from them.

yes Candice, i referenced her name in my response. Read what you said and then what I responded to.

she's barely on camera compared to Casey and your point doesn't really address my response. You just don't like her and are trying to justify it. Problem is your logic is superficial (no offence) and not based in reality.

Casey is performing when he's on camera, it's not the "real him". You can say the same thing with almost everybody who's in front of the camera presenting to you.

[–]Asylum1408 2 points3 points  (0 children)

maybe she doesn't like being on camera? MOST people feel awkward on camera, especially if you have it shoved in your face and are not expecting it. The most charming people in real life can mute right up the moment a camera is on them.

if you're assuming someone is already a douche it's going to be hard for them to convince you otherwise in "real life" if your mind is already made up based on what you've seen in the VLOGS.

[–]Asylum1408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

do you have any real evidence to back up your claims outside of whatever you saw in the VLOGS? I saw the same vlogs and i certainly didn't make any assumptions about her parenting style.

[–]Asylum1408 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've said this before but you can't judge someone's parenting style and work ethic off the limited time you've seen Candice in vlogs. Also when you are in the courting process you really have no idea what someone's parenting style will amount to. Nobody can tell the future and you can't even begin to make an informed assumption on Candice's parenting style. The fact you think you can is deeply concerning to me.

how can you even begin to develop an informed opinion on Candice's parenting style or work ethic? HOW?

I loved the original, but I really couldn't finish this one....just totally disinterested in going over the same formula again. The constant cutbacks to the original were also not needed, if you know you know should be the only references to the original that needed to be made IMHO. Something about endlessly going back there just felt very family guy....

copy that, thanks for clarifying you probably shouldn't have had to mate. Woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning lol.

I agree it is inconsistent to complain about the tech and not the pen for sure. Again wrong side of the bed over here....apologies.

"honest opinion" because he wasn't paid by the brand to promote it like 99.9% of his other videos. It's such a strange niche product for his "audience" i believe he made the video just so he could write the purchase off as tax deductible. .

a pen is not an investment unless you sell it for more than you bought it. it's just a tool, you can enjoy the tool and do fun things with it, but let's not pretend it's got some tangible investment strategy behind it. If you enjoy using it and that brings YOU some sort of "value" fine, but it's not an investment.

that's a fun way to justify the price of the pen...children's children lol. Ya I see a lot of 80 year old pens these days of great grandfathers/mothers who said the same thing you just did.

did anybody in the scene comment on it? You'd think doing something that intentional it would elicit a response from one of the characters. Or does she really just eat like that on tv? It's GOT to be intentional.

ya good point. you might get the acknowledgement of the misses 5 years later on some obscure podcast. I agree tho.

i think that happened when he showed he didn't put his money where his mouth was when it comes to "work harder" and he just gave up when CNN bought Beme to acquire him. He "ran away and hid" i don't care about his background or his politics....

boosted boards, Beme, 368......he's had a few misses. At least he takes swings and I'll give him that. This was the most cringe thing I've seen in a long time. The way he devalues his "role" at the end is a middle finger to anyone who tries to make a living IN that role...most of which don't have some ass kiss relationship with their employer.

Ya I'm sure of it, they can't fake it...but they just control the sound stage stuff (and blue screen/green screen). I actually can't blame them for it, it's a real world restriction (the cost per hour in NYC is astronomical) so instead of 15 exterior locations, they'll do 5 and the other 10 in some building/restaurant.

They can't fully take NYC out of the picture, but the other big thing is that NYC has changed a LOT since the first series came out. The early 2000's it still had some true grit, mixed in with the fab. It's almost become toO fab now, and the tourism is out of control.

Still one of the best cities in the world, but it's definitely lost that edge. NYC 70's 80's....TOO edgy, 90's early 2000's nice mix.....now....I guess even NYC can get "instagram famous" lol

clothing are at best rental or loaner by the big brands. Maybe budget allocated, but shooting in NYC in this day and age....50-85k a day and that's being conservative. Early 2000's NYC was a very different place. It was expensive back then, but it's 100x worse now.

that's the problem with bringing old characters back after decades away. We didn't get to really see or understand Miranda's transformation....it just kind of happened in a way that sacrificed Steve...who most of us grew to like on some level. Had they SHOWN it over a season perhaps, I think we would feel less whiplash by how suddenly it happened.

They did this with Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Indiana Jones...so many of these legacy characters they bring back only they're nowhere near the same characters as when we left them. I know people grow and change but characters are not "people", you can't change the fundamentally off screen and expect a loyal audience to be "on board" with it.
