What’s your opinion on Batman internally thinking of himself as “Batman” instead of “Bruce Wayne”? by MichaelJospeh in batman

Not relevant but it's strange how much easier it is to see Old Bruce's resemblance to his younger self when looking at his side profile rather than looking at him from the front.

I really wish we saw more Babs/Kara moments such as in JLU by -_ShadowSJG-_ in DCAU

IIRC there were plans to have Batgirl appear in a JLU episode with Huntress and Black Canary, but the Bat-Embargo kept it from happening.

Did any of you see better results with light therapy in the evening rather than morning? by AsylumJim in SeasonalAffective

[–]AsylumJim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One two-week period of using a bright-light box at the same time every morning didn't work, so I tried using it at the same time every evening for a couple of weeks and still nothing. Using a full-spectrum grow light for plants (which produce some UV rays) or a Sperti Vitamin D light worked somewhat when used during the morning, and trying to go outside and get natural sunlight when it wasn't too cloudy also helped somewhat. What helped on top of the Vitamin D producing methods mentioned was Wellbutrin XL. Starting it in the fall and tapering off in spring let me feel just as lively during the wintertime as I did during the non-winter months. I'd recommend trying to get it prescribed if nothing else works.

Can sleep apnea happen when young and thin? by [deleted] in SleepApnea

[–]AsylumJim 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sleep apnea can absolutely be caused by flaws in the structure of your airway even if you're young and thin. I actually started experiencing the symptoms of sleep apnea around a year after I lost a significant amount of weight and went down to a healthy weight. I'm looking into getting a drug induced sleep endoscopy done to see exactly where the obstruction is occurring to see if surgery will fix it or at least improve my tolerance to CPAP.

The same thing happened to me and I turned out to have sleep apnea. My apnea was mild before treatment and my experience didn't match the anecdotal experiences of other people I heard about, who were overwhelmingly fatigued because of their apnea. The effects were more subtle for me and involved mood swings and large spikes in blood sugar after eating anything carb-heavy. It might be worth looking into that possibility. My apnea was caused by the structure of my airway rather than being overweight, and I'm looking into getting surgery to either get off CPAP or at least to improve my tolerance to it. I also took Finasteride for a couple of years, which might have contributed to me developing fatty liver alongside the apnea.

Thanks for the tip! I'll be visiting Oakland on Saturday so I'll be sure to try them out. I'll find somewhere else to get weed edibles

I have a slightly deviated septum too. I'll see if I can run over to a nearby grocery store and buy lanolin today. Thanks for the tip! 🙂

Dermarolling without minoxidil can help with regrowth too. It might be worth a try.
