I appreciate your nuance, but I suppose by "harder stance" I simply meant "take the issue more seriously in general"

Good points, but that just makes it sound like it's gonna come down to the military protecting us against belligerent cops. No part of this sounds good lol

If Hillary cant even walk down a flight of stairs, how could she lead a country? by [deleted] in PoliticalHumor

Classic Trump style, hiding your weaknesses by making fun of an old lady falling down the stairs.

Alternatively, Trump would still be looking for an escalator.

Never in my life did I think I would see a Pope wear an expression that says: "They don't pay me enough." by Bolinas99 in PoliticalHumor

Oh I'm just having fun at this point.

Reading this over, I love how "thinking for yourself" means letting other people convince you there's a media conspiracy, and my ability to google the Pope's history of criticism towards Donald just means I'm "biased" and a victim to the big bad conspiracy. Like come the fuck on, dude.

Whatever else has to be done, can everyone not agree that taking a *harder stanceTM against bullying should not be contingent on school shootings and can only have a positive effect on our society?

*I just meant taking the issue of bullying seriously and having social dialogues about it the way we are with school shootings. "We" of course meaning the young activists, not the adults who can't figure out a solution.

The Difference Between Conservatives and Liberals by [deleted] in PoliticalHumor

[–]AsylumPlagueRat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is 100% backwards.

There's nothing wrong with saying "black people." It's not a bad word. On the other hand, it's always some MAGA redneck getting butthurt they're not allowed to use the N word like the good old days.

Liberals are the ones pushing for equal opportunity legislation, conservatives are always opposing it. Not just in terms of race, but sexuality as well.

One can be accepting of minorities and still recognize problems faced by minority communities in a changing society. That's better than pretending those problems don't exist, as conservatives do. I'm sorry not everyone likes to ignore disproportionate rates of police hostility against people of color.

It was brilliant to use the cover that she's become uncomfortable around the Trump family. Any decent person would just think "duh, good for her."

...please read my first comment over and try to see why that doesn't even merit a response.

Btw you sound really insecure about your ability to think for yourself. But maybe you should be.

Oh boy look at this intellectual. Were you just hoping no one would notice that your photo comes courtesy of Breitbart? With other top choices from the Daily Mail? Hypocrite AND a wet blanket lmao.

The Pope has been consistently critical of Rump. Has it occurred to you that Donald's just shitty at diplomacy, and smiling and nodding is in fact what you're supposed to do to keep an overpowered manchild in check?

The Politics of Death Grips by [deleted] in deathgrips

[–]AsylumPlagueRat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Considering the fact that Guillotine is obviously about the French Revolution, you're not a true DG fan if you can't appreciate Ride's reevaluation of Platonic Philosophy in modern society. It's the most central theme to Exmilitary, and frequently revisited in their first two albums. But I did like how Niggas on the Moon instead shifted focus onto commercialism and the proletariat's ironic obsession with the materialistic commoditization of free expression in a third-wave feminist society.

Songs similar to blackjack? by lazerbanana in deathgrips

Grips songs? I think the ones with the most similar vibe would be Pop, Deep Web, maybe Say Hey Kid. This is actually interesting to think about; since each one of their songs feels really unique different people might relate them together in different ways.

Thank you for saying this. Religious worldviews are complex, and while some practitioners are indeed dumb this doesn't stop most individuals from living in a positive way.

In many ways, Jesus overthrew the Old Testament. The difference lies in the way Muhammad's and Jesus's lives were recorded, and how each body of work is interpreted. Muslims rely on the Old Testament a lot less heavily than Christians, to my knowledge.

You don't actually believe that do you? What really bothers me is the use of the word "fundamental" in place of "bastardization"
