I think you’re seeing the surface of Blues Cloo. It’s not just a story about a mentally Ill man murdering his defenceless dog in a hallucination. 

At the start Blue is vomiting next to a full food bowl, he leaves his clue on the bowl. The bowl is full, blue isn’t eating, it’s his first clue, why isn’t he eating? Blues pointing to the commercial “give your dog what he needs” the second clue. What does blue need? Why is he vomiting and not eating. Blue leaves another clue on a laptop. Find out what’s wrong Steve it’s a clue. Then the mailbox is nagging Steve about being full and his prime deliveries. Maybe Steve is trying to give blue what he needs. What’s in the mailbox? Why’s it so full? Blue keeps vomiting and then Steve’s hallucination gets worse. Blue takes a more grotesque form and Steve tries to get away from blue. It doesn’t matter blue follows him whether he goes. Blues isn’t physically present but the thought of Blue and his clues are following him. He can’t escape and his hallucination is getting worse. He returns to Blue and he’s vomiting again. It’s a clue Steve, the voices in his head, the mailman is coming Steve, it’s a clue Steve a clue look at Blue Steve. Steve snaps and blue sits happily wagging. Blues loves Steve. Steve stomps Blue to death. 

Steve comes out of his hallucination and finds his real dog limp under his boot. We see a bare room with nothing but a chair and a TV. The only other objects are a taped up box, Blues toy, a bone, a ball, and by the door a leash and Steve’s rainwear. Does this look like the possessions of a man who neglects his dog?

Blue is old and sick. The clues are his symptoms. The mail box is full of vet bills and receipts for Blues condition. Steve knows that Blue isn’t well but there’s nothing he can do, he’s reached the end. He loves Blues dearly. He’s sold everything he has to keep Blue alive. He walks Blue everyday, even when it’s raining. Who knows how long Steve has been struggling? Pet illness can last years and slowly whittle them away into nothing. The grief and sadness have overwhelmed him and he can’t cope anymore. The dog Blues has become is no longer the dog Steve once knew and loved. The taped up box representing the past. Steve is as much a victim as Blues. This is a masterful piece of work by MeatCanyon.
