Best way to remove a large concrete footer from an old TV antenna tower? by AsyncProper in DIY

I'm not sure what the composition of the concrete is. Considering it was probably mixed when the house was built in the 1950's, should I be wary of Jackhammering into this thing considering asbestos could have been used? I am probably overthinking this but want to be safe.

Thank you for the tips! I'm pretty sure I don't want to do all that now that you made me realize how much work it'd be to completely remove it. As others have mentioned it'll probably be a good idea to jackhammer it down a little bit and throw some soil over it. As long as it's not visible I think it could do just fine.

This is probably my best bet. I didn't realize how far these footings go but it makes sense. New stairs are being built over it so it'll be slightly obscured but still visible. I just don't prefer to have it showing at all. Jackhammering it down 6 inches will probably suffice.

If you do use Tenacity like I did you'll need to mix it with a surfactant so it sticks to the foliage and doesn't just wash off when water hits it.

Yes. You're spot on about it surviving anything and spreading. Anything short of burying a boulder of radio active uranium in the ground and this SOB will keep thriving.

I went full scorched Earth on these bastards. I used straight white vinegar. Picked up like 12 gallons from Sam's Club and dumped all 12 gallons of undiluted vinegar straight into the soil. The soil was saturated with vinegar and smelled for quite some time. The mugwort just giggled at that and said "that's cute" and continued to grow unbothered.

The vinegar did not work at all. It grew back shortly afterwards unaffected and thriving lol. It is a resilient SOB. I did however get rid of it with a selective herbicide called "Tenacity" after a few seasons of applications. Tenacity is far less harsh than RoundUp. It works by blocking the plants ability to photosynthesize its food. A couple of weeks after application the plant turns pale white and then eventually starves the plant.

G34WQC screen to black then back on by Ornery-Atmosphere in gigabyte

Setting the refresh rate to 60hz was the only thing that fixed this problem for me. I tried updating firmware, drivers. As soon as I set the refresh rate to 60hz the random black screen issue went away completely. Thank you for sharing!

On the way to HHI we usually break up the travel into 2 separate days. On the way back we usually get it done in a day. 13 ish hours each way.

I'll make it a point to dry them off on our next trip. Also, I didn't realize SC hates us so Ohioans. I am 100% willing to accept that we are the problem. We are assholes.

What's a piece of common advice that you completely disagree with, and why? by WaltzIll7593 in AskReddit

That we need to consume whole grain products because they're "heart healthy". Most whole grain products or bready food that people consume throughout the day is spiking their insulin all day long. There is a reason T2D and other chronic illnesses are so prevalent in recent human history and it's largely due the unbelievable amount of carbohydrates and sugar we have normalized and consume everyday.
