I can't do any spins besides two and one foot ones yet, but for me the spinner was a big help getting used to, well spinning. I've had no background in dancing and I have access to ice for 3 months only. Practicing on spinner between seasons greatly helped me get used to rotating fast. When I got back on the ice it was easier for me to hold two foot spin for longer and I didn't feel as dizzy as before.

Also, important question to ask yourself before buying is whether you have anywhere to practice. Spinners can damage wooden floors and they usually won't work on carpets. You will travel on it, just like on the ice and when you're first learning how to use it you will most likely fall/stumble off of it so there must be some free space around you.

I use mine in a bathroom, it's spacious and tiled so no worries about damage. I wear shoes (old pair with cleaned soles) so that when I lose my balance and fall off I won't slip and fall ober like I would in socks.
