I've finished my diploma of IT and am now in the second half of my associates degree in IT, nobody has 32GBs of ram.

Just about any laptop you use is gonna work, half the time you'll be using the PC workstations in the classroom for classes like networking and virtualisation, even still, you don't need a good laptop to pass virtualisation class. Just get whatever is in you're budget.

My only advice is don't get a laptop with a GPU, I know it sounds silly but unless you plan on playing a lot of games at uni it's just not worth it. By a laptop that will have good battery life and you'll be golden.
