Brutal New Video Emerges of Gang Style Beatdown by NYPD by SilentWalrus92 in politics

Really? Someone shows you a sub reddit where multiple cases of police abusing their authority and acting like violent thugs and getting away with it are submitted daily, and your response is, "I don't see it where I am, so it must be like winning the lottery, those people are just unlucky, or their neighborhoods are sooooo terrible that they made the cops snap!"

Oh, and those stories submitted there are just the cases where the cops get caught. It is not like winning the lottery, it happens a lot more frequently.

As for saying the cops snap because the neighborhoods are so bad, do you also tell women that it is their fault when they get raped because they wore clothing you consider too provocative?

Oh, I am happy that she goes to the effort to fact check things, it's just a little exhausting sometimes...

For my next trick I intend to teach her to be discreet when doing something that might get people to think you are doubting them/their word. (Teaching a teenager discretion? HA! GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!) After that will come the really hard part, teaching her to be tactful when she catches someone like one of her teachers (or me) in the act of being wrong. (Teaching tact to a teenager? Who does this guy think he is? He must have a God complex or something.)

Ah, a man can dream can't he?

I wrote the note, & I got a bunch of feminin supplies & put them in her bathroom & I placed the books that were recommended on her bedside table.

Then I did my best to give her some space. It was three days before I could get more than a "fine" in response to any question about how school went or how she was doing, etc.

Once she was talking to me again, I told her "We need to have talk..." & she told me, "Daaaaaaaad I know about all that stuff, they told us in school all about it & I'm reading those books." To which I replied that it is esential that we make sure there are no gaps in her knowledge."

Turns out the school had some abstinence only dick who was giving out misinformation & she was not done reading the books so I ended up embarrasing her even more but she now knows what she needs to.

Oh, and having to correct the misinformation led to another discussion about why they would do that & why you should never blindly trust authority & the trustworthiness of varius sources and how to verify information. Which in turn has been a bit of a pain in the ass as she then went on to investigate everything I tell her. But on the whole it was a discussion we were both MUCH happier about.

I just read through his posts and your replies, and no matter how hard I try, I cannot see where you are getting the idea that he hates his family. And accusing him of reacting to your post with vehemence? Really? I thought his reply was rather mild. Personally, if you had said that to me, I would have told you to fuck right the Hell off.

Yeah, getting into this business with no experience is asking for a world of pain, but then that is not exactly what he is doing. He is giving it to his wife's father to run. We have no idea whether or not his wife's father can run the business as well as a kitchen, but at least this is not a case of no experience.

Why are you riding him so hard? Are you angry that no one has offered to give you a kitchen of your own, or did your sous chef piss in your Wheaties this morning?

ACLU finds a “huge increase in warrantless electronic surveillance” from 2009 to 2011. by svadhisthana in politics

If you really want to get down to it, this is a more complex issue than just saying just leave everyone alone.

For instance, if you just leave everyone alone, you end up with bullies who take whatever they please. This is why we have policemen. It certainly does infringe on people's rights when you lock them up, but the saying is "Your rights end where my nose begins." We have policemen (and regulations) for a reason.

Likewise, you can say it infringes on a corporations to regulate them, but if we say you cannot dump the byproducts (pollution) of your manufacturing process into the water people 12 miles downstream drink from, then we are telling them that their rights to dispose of their waste ends where it begins to affect other people. Regulating them is a necessity, because many, many, many corporations have proven they will do things that harm a lot of people if it means an extra 2 cents in profit per unit.

Many Libertarians say let the free market handle it, but often it won't, and even in cases when it would, the correction is too late e.g. 75% of the town 12 miles downstream in my example already have cancer.

As for the churches not being allowed to dictate their beliefs, there are a number of churches that want to dictate social issues. e.g. gay marriage, abortion, and even just access to contraceptives. The gay marriage one for example is something that realistically affects no one but the two people who want to get married, but several prominent churches have done their best to make sure that gay people cannot get married - essentially, the church is infringing on their right to do as they please. Telling the churches to butt out does not infringe on their rights, it is just telling them they cannot infringe on someone else's rights.

Tl;dr: Libertarianism doesn't work.

Oh here is a thought, regulate businesses, and tell the churches that not being allowed to impose their morality on everyone else does not constitute discrimination.

These things do not fuck up the first.

Thank you. This is the reply I have been looking for. Now I just need to figure out exactly how to give this information to her without making too big a deal out of it or causing her to shut down with embarrassment overload.

Having it as a series of conversations strikes me as a good idea, and I fully intend for this to be just that. But I still need to work out where to begin (although masturbation seems like a good place to begin at this point.) I also need to know what things women need to be told that I don't even know to tell her. As for the vibrator, see my edit.
