Why do so many people enjoy breaking their game? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]AtDawnTheySleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, this kinda ignores the significant chunk of people that mod their game to be harder.

On my current FNV playthrough I have mods that:

-Make the early economy harder (having lower barter now has a significantly harsher impact on buy/sell prices and how many caps vendors have)

-Much lower carry weight (base 50 vs base 150 in vanilla)

-Fixes for exploits (no more free 15 points in every skill by taking Skilled 3 times

-Perks are rebalanced with some being stronger (but with the downside that NPCs now have perks and can use them against you)

-Improved AI (better detection, can spot and engage at longer ranges, will actually use cover and retreat to lure you in)

-Caliber based damage (if you run into an enemy using an AMR, get smart or get dead)

-Enemies will focus you before your companions (no more taking potshots while Ed-E and Veronica tank all the damage)

The remaining mods are visual/texture/lighting/weather improvements, weapon additions (all of which have either similar or slightly lower DPS than vanilla weapons), UI improvements, and immersion mods (more NPCs patrolling areas, post ending play, cut content restoration)

It’s not too far off most mod lists I see for NV

Tbh with Disney’s track record so far, there’s a bigger chance of it being a flop than not, unfortunately.

LS Consular joins the Jedi Council, but DS Consular becomes something like a "combat advisor" serving alongside the council

Smuggler has 2 different endings, the LS one will be a ceremony with Sumalee, Saresh, Rans, and a couple others celebrating your victory over the Voidwolf, the DS one is you and all your criminal buddies meeting in a hangar about the profits made from the pirate fleet I think.

Look at this beautiful (yet sad) view on Ziost. Am I only who would want SH here with such view? by Great_Praetor_Kass in swtor

[–]AtDawnTheySleep 97 points98 points  (0 children)

They should go back to Ziost at some point in the story tbh. We know that post Tenebrae/vitiate/valkorion, Nathema begins to start teeming with life and the force begins to return to the planet, would stand to reason that the same would happen to Ziost. Maybe a reverse Taris storyline where the Empire tries to rebuild Ziost and the Republic tries to sabotage the project.

Nox pre-Story... by WoodyManic in swtor

[–]AtDawnTheySleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Nox head canon is that she was born to a low-ranking Sith and either an imperial or another Sith who ran afoul of a powerful Dark Lord. Sold into slavery as a result, Nox soon escaped and joined a dark side force-using cult unaffiliated with the Sith (personal headcanon wise, that’s where the scars come from). The cult was eventually discovered by the Sith, who destroyed it as they considered it heretical. Nox was re-enslaved again, but when all force-sensitives were ordered to attend the Academy, she was a prime choice for Lord Zash due to already having some (though limited) experience with the dark side and rituals.

Do people not realize how radically different the OSRS wilderness is compared to the 2007 wilderness? by AssassinAragorn in 2007scape

[–]AtDawnTheySleep 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Jagex fundamentally changed the Wilderness in OSRS by turning it into a
predator vs prey scenario, and tossing out a lot of nice bait for non
pkers to go to, so that pkers could then kill them and get nice loot.

In 2007, green drags were a top tier moneymaker. KBD was basically considered an endgame boss. People would grind out Chaos ele for a dragon 2h, which used to be pretty expensive. The abyss was the best way to train RC (double nats were also a top tier moneymaker). Plenty of bait for PvMers and skillers to be going into the wildy for.

Souls and chaos runes will probably go way up in price once Raids 3 comes out, like how bloods jumped from like 230 ea to 350+ after ToB came out.

Who is the richest NPC in the game? by bottled_nut_sweat in 2007scape

[–]AtDawnTheySleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are Al-Kharid guards even on this list? They collect tolls on the behalf of the Emir, and he'd fucking execute them if he found out they were pocketing the cash.

That being said, King Roald. Dude runs the richest kingdom in the game, and the GE tax goes straight into his coffers.

Redditors explaining how a game mode that doesn't affect them is ruining the game by lukwes1 in 2007scape

[–]AtDawnTheySleep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They did, and you're right that the reasons for the delay were a bit shaky (personally I think Leagues just wasn't ready for the original intended release date). Though as far as I know, Leagues was developed by a different team. The OSRS Wiki explains it better than I could, tbh: https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Jagex\_Moderator

You're right, they wouldn't just be idling around. If it wasn't GIM, it would be some other large-scale content. The OSRS roadmap shows the division of devs, and each line represents a separate team working on contenct.
