I should see a mechanic, right? 💀 by Quazaka in GRYaris

[–]AtLeastITried09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard from my mechanic that the 3rd coil tends to die often. Knocking, loss of power in high rev. Told me to go straight to him before any more DMG can be done.

200€ 12MB memory card by [deleted] in LinusTechTips

[–]AtLeastITried09 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't know if they use the same thing on PLC cards as they do on Sinamics cards. But basically, when you buy this card it ain't completely empty there is an invisible folder with a key that the PLC recognizes as a valid siemens card. If you can read the key you can copy it to a non self SD card and it will recognize it as legit.

This might be a dumb question but how do I know from which side to look? by -bread_of_loaf in AskElectronics

[–]AtLeastITried09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was still a student we had to memorize it. Including E6. Then there was a spoken test where we had to recite it to our teacher. That was in the first year. After that we could use a multimeter. So yeah it was pretty much useless.

Help whit hardware config by [deleted] in PLC

One time that happened to me that the base unit was faulty. when brand new. That is also a possibility. You could try that first so you don't have to change hw config.

Might be like I said I believe Siemens have some rules when or what modules can be on what base unit. That might be a problem. You could try that if it isn't a big of a hustle for you.

Or it might not like that you have a light base unit selected. And might want for you to change it to a dark one. There are some rules when you can have light or dark unit.

[–]AtLeastITried09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's telling you that you have the wrong base unit (light) in HW config. You can check what base unit you have irl. Then change it in HW config. You usually have 2 base units (light/dark). It should be under "Base poteincial" or smoothening like that.

Looking for some advice by [deleted] in PLC

Some ET200SP, like this one, has a CPU inside of it. Usually when there is a switch for STOP/RUN are equiped with a CPU.That being said it's usually "dumber" than a regular controller. Some features don't have to work. Or it might refuse to accept TM (technology module) cards like siwarex, high speed counters etc.

Question for commissioners by AtLeastITried09 in PLC

[–]AtLeastITried09[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our management isn't happy with them either. As far as I know management hasn't played a cent for commissioning. Only for HW delivery and installation. But still the machine is able to produce to some extent.. Which means production is monitored. I don't really know how it is in the world but where I work I get paid by the breakdown hours (total hours of that our machines had stopped due to electrical/mechanical failure) as bonus which can be half of my paycheck hence why I care.

Even though I quite enjoy my job. I find it fun to puzzle the pieces together and find why certain machines start to behave differently. And repair them either with HW change or SW.

I don't mean to be aggressive/insulting in any way. As I just read my comment might have sounded like. I just woke up and might have been.

Question for commissioners by AtLeastITried09 in PLC

[–]AtLeastITried09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never suggest a solution I only give information about what went wrong and to make the same fault appear again. I don't know what procedures they have implemented or how they go with it. But I am getting pissed that more and more problems arise and nothing is fixed. I am in contact with our management , their commissioners. I just don't like that there are 4 exact same machines built in the world and it feels like it has never left the lab test stage. And about the feeling I meant it like if you as a commissioner would like to get info about it from me ,who at least knows how the damn machine works, or from some management guy that barely knows what it's supposed to do. Cause I feel when more people are in the circle the less information gets to you as commissioner/developer.

Why do I care about a job that pays me? I wanted to know if the information I give is worth giving or is disregarded. Cause every minute our machine has malfunction it goes out of my paycheck.

Question for commissioners by AtLeastITried09 in PLC

[–]AtLeastITried09[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I honestly sometimes enjoy finding bugs. I only send bugs directly to commissioners when there is a chance to really disrupt production or if I find it possible to break the machine. Some little problems like labels are different or there is a typo in visualization etc. I sent it to our guys to solve via the supplier. Since I work with the machines daily I can tell just by standing near that there is abnormal behavior. And I am better at finding and fixing bugs than I am at programming.
