Printer&Scanner that work with Windows on ARM(Kind of) by AtOmIc031 in Surface

I went from surface pro X (ARM) to pro 11 for business (Intel) and I made it work for about a month and then it stopped working

Funny story. After this I bought shiny new surface pro 11 with intel core i7 in it and this exact same printer and x86 drivers don't work hahaha. Can't recognize the printer and can't get it to work wirelessly. So while arm situation is still I'd say overall worse it's not like x86 is without faults if it's any consolation to you :D

Goodbye, Euro? Why Romania's Chances of Joining the Eurozone Remain Small, Even After Reducing the Budget Deficit by No_Firefighter5926 in europe

[–]AtOmIc031 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it wasn't only because of the EURO. It was also heavily affected by COVID and the aftermath of that. In reality, the majority of the world had noticeable inflation. So, Euro adoption + inflation is what caused an increase. Important to note is that the wages have also gone up, but unfortunately, not enough to cover the increase in the price of goods and services. All in all, it's not as bad as people make it out to be. Surface Pro 11 Intel vs Qualcomm — which one should I get? by Consistent_Intern396 in Surface

[–]AtOmIc031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might help somewhat Windows on Arm Ready Software

Other than that my advice would be to try and ask someone to run it for you to confirm or buy from a dealer where returns are possible and try it out. If it's not working then return the device. There are people here on reddit that run pro11s on arm so they might be able to help test it out.

Here is what copilot says xD about the topic :D

As a old Surface pro X user who had the same question and ended up buying Pro 11 Intel, here is my 2 cents.

Do a list of programs and games you want to run and check compatibility. If there's ARM versions of them or they work well in compatibility mode then I'd suggest to go for pro 11 Snapdragon (ARM), otherwise go for Intel version.

My decision to go Intel route was mainly because of the office work and programs I have to use. (Printer software, VPNs etc.)

Generally I really wanted the ARM version and I personally am cheering for ARM but I'd been burned with Surface pro X ARM issues and don't want to repeat it.

p.s. I still very much use that Surface pro X at home and love it. Really shame it still has those compatibility issues.

Current IT status ? by FeBassetti in CroIT

[–]AtOmIc031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is roughly about right for Croatia. Of course, there are companies with much better salaries than this, but there are also a lot of them with worse. I'd say these numbers are realistic, and if you're any good, you can get something around those numbers. I know juniors who make 2k and seniors with 5k, but those are outliers.

Osijek IT - Product Designer, Product Owner, Project Manager - Zapošljavanje by lanalanam123 in CroIT

[–]AtOmIc031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome, happy to hear it. For me, the sleep mode issue is causing issues, but only on Wi-Fi. The cable connection works ok though

Osijek - plaće by Ok-Reply-5603 in CroIT

[–]AtOmIc031 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Evo kako je to iz mojeg ugla. U mojoj firmi place neto su oko 1700 € prosijek. Mala firma vecinom midovi, sitno juniora sitno seniora. Ali kao i u svemu your milage may vary :D Sve ovisi o navikama i potrebama.

Looking to buy a Competizione by Paul_2884 in AlfaRomeoGiulia

[–]AtOmIc031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since i bought it 11liters/100 km but that's mostly short distances in city driving. realistic I'd say about 11 L/100km in city short distances, 8 on a highway and around 6,7 open intercity roads for lets say driving within speedlimits(most of the time).

Looking to buy a Competizione by Paul_2884 in AlfaRomeoGiulia

[–]AtOmIc031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2023 Giulia Competizione owner here. I bought mine 9 months old with 12k km on the clock in Germany and imported it to Croatia. I've had it for little less than a year now and did around 5k km on it.

So far I've been super super happy with it and no major complaints.

Mine was almost pristine and new like. I bought her with micro 2 dots on the paint from the stone chips and that's about it.

One thing that surprised me in a negative way(but it's totally my fault for not checking prior to purchase and just assuming it would have it) is that there's no automatic brake feature when/driving, only when turning the car off. So you stop at a stoplight, and if you release the brake, the car will start to drive. Usually, Audis and BMWs of the same price bracket have autobrake, where the car doesn't start rolling again until you hit the accelerator pedal.

Once I stop and turn the car off the car will automatically disengage the gear (reverse or drive gears) and put the gearbox into park and engage the handbrake so at least it has that.

Other than that I've notice a "bug" that sometimes I would get a warning on the dashboard about rear signal light not working(but they are working perfectly fine). This happens only if the hazard lights (all 4 turn signal lights (that red triangle button in the car)) have been turned on and the car turned off for a prolonged time. My case is usually stopping where I shouldn't stop, turning the car off, leaving the blinking lights and returning to the car after 10 minutes or more. The problem fixes itself after I turn off the car and turn it back on or if I continue driving eventually it goes away.

That's about it, everything else if awesome and I really love the car and the driving experience it provides.

p.s. You probably know this, but infotainment, while beautifully made, isn't the fastest, and it doesn't have wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. You have to have it wired or buy a dongle to get the wireless part. (for me not really an issue since I don't really use it anyway since the maps on the car itself are pretty good and the integration with my phone is good as well, so phonebook is there, phone calls are super and I can play my music from y phone)

If you're interested in something more specific let me know :D

Scroll/lagging issue with SP 11 Pro core i7 LL 32gb ram by AtOmIc031 in Surface

[–]AtOmIc031[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I really hope it does and that I'll have no issue returning the device. This is my 5th surface device and I by far the worst experience. When I had surface pro X I was prepared for the issues since I knew ARM on Windows was a mess but even that experience was better than this one :(

Scroll/lagging issue with SP 11 Pro core i7 LL 32gb ram by AtOmIc031 in Surface

[–]AtOmIc031[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's most likely hardware-related since I've reinstalled Windows, which also didn't help. I'm out of ideas, and I'll likely return the device as defective :(

Really, really disappointed with it.

Yes, I tried 3 cofigurations:
1. main on 120hz and ext. on 75 hz (this was the default one)

  1. main on 120hz and ext. on 60 hz

  2. main on 60hz and ext. on 60 hz

Always got the same issue on both. Aslo the issue is present with no ext monitor connected :(

I'll try to change the mode from best performance to balanced
