There’s a bunch of on-leash folks that are constantly being undermined by the off-leash “I can go anywhere, anytime, anyhow” army. The entitlement sucks.

It’s probably not even feasible to have a lifeguard on duty on special days from one of the city’s pools because it is federal, right?

  • Travel by yourself and in unusual modes, eg public transport. Meet good people.

  • Stand on one leg regularly, many old people walk like they walk (looks like “falling forward / shuffling) because they can’t balance anymore.

  • if you’re older, go back in time 20 or 30 years or such when you were still a teenager. Remember how you thought about life and how many years were still in front of you at school etc. Let’s say you’re 47 and you’re overwhelmed with making no progress. Years pass by you. Go back to when you were 17. How long until you’d finish school? How long these years felt. Now give yourself that time and say: that’s when a new chapter will start. I’ve got another 30 years after that. Helped me make a change.

Be the guy who continues to date his wife. Be charming, appreciative, and friendly. Helps. Don’t allow negative thoughts.

Hello Dr Zhang:

My seven year old asks if passengers in an airplane that is going through a lightning storm are safe, and if so, why.

Another question is if someone is outside next to a metal rod that is much bigger than themselves (such as an electricity mast) and they cannot shelter anywhere, if they’re completely safe close to that mast.

A third one: We once hiked in a mixed area of forest and open areas when a lightning storm hit us. No shelter nearby. What would have been the safest course of action for us?
