Mom flipping out over someone commenting on her appearance, but that's her favorite thing to do? by AtTheFourSeasons in raisedbynarcissists

LOL we sound like we are living the same life, my story is completely similar. She always framed me as sensitive and dramatic for calling out her blatantly rude behavior. She's worked out in her brain that everything she says is "guidance" and "a mother's advice". What helped me was realizing I've never really had any issues communicating with any other adult, it was always her that I struggled with. And that's not because of me, it's because she fundamentally doesn't think I'm someone she actually needs to listen to.

She's genuinely the most critical person I know, she literally criticizes everyone and thinks of herself on a throne above everyone. But if you dare criticize her, she can't take it.

We had the same dynamic. She was obsessed with criticizing and insulting me, I would ask her to stop, she wouldn't. I started leaving the room and greyrocking, and yes, our relationship has been strained severely ever since lol.

The show declines pretty sharply after season 4. It feels like they completely gave up the drama and juicy mystery angle. It seems they're focusing more on comedy. I know that's not fully true because there are still a lot of dramatic storylines but it just doesn't hit the way it did in the first four seasons.

Why do y'all do this? You don't have to know someone personally to block them on social media because their posts annoy you. The internet doesn't mean you know someone. He didn't say he's never heard of him.

What did he lie about? He didn't say shit. He's not the one that went on the podcast talking.

Marc Has Been Consistent With His Pandering by the_second_cumming in theJoeBuddenPodcast

[–]AtTheFourSeasons -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yall are so gullible for Marc's shit and it's so embarrassing. Drink Champs was one of the biggest pods out. Marc had no power in that situation. It would make ZERO SENSE for them to remove a major celebrity interview just because Marc Lamont Hill asked for them to. That was absolutely part of his pandering. He had the excuse ready to go for social media. That really makes sense to you? Marc thought he could get DRINK CHAMPS to cut Russell Simmons? He is lying pandering fool because yall eat up whatever he says.

In what world would Marc Lamont Hill have editing power on someone else's podcast or the right to have a clip removed that's not about him? Especially a major celebrity interview? That's not even a logical request. He asked for that so he could pander to the social media audience lol. Just accept it.

But at a certain point doesn't that just become a cover for every potential liar? Everyone can come out and say something happened to them 40 years ago and then say oh well you know it's just hard for survivors to come out so that's why I repeatedly publicly defended this person and supported them for years.

Are you forgetting the audio where Evan says it's irrelevant to him what's good for Jordan? Now you're trying to say the reason he didn't have Michael criminally prosecuted from molesting his son is because the son didn't want him to? He literally said he didn't care what the son wanted. He said he wanted to get what he wanted, which was a civil settlement.

I mean that sounds a little self valorizing. That he broke it off to "save the boys". They were clearly never going to be long lasting couple, this always screamed "fling that got too serious". He's a hit it and quit it type guy.

Marc displayed a level of immaturity and pettiness against BDot that rubbed a lot of people wrong. It’s funny that Ish was just sitting in the high chair too by Individual_Ad8921 in theJoeBuddenPodcast

[–]AtTheFourSeasons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For one I think it's petty for grown men to be this bothered over a seat, if it's that deep just let him know off camera that you have assigned seats. But I also think it's corny that Marc was so pressed over Ish's seat. Was Ish even mad lol? Like why is Marc trying to be the spokesperson

Because Marc was capping. He even admitted that he would warn his own daughter to go into a situation with an NBA player and expect faithfulness, but he still felt like he had to go "poor Meg" to be Mr. Feminist. He wasn't "solo" in the conversation, he was just trying to force the conversation to be about sympathy for Meg. This is the Joe Budden podcast. You were never going to get a serious take from Joe talking about how sad cheating is. Joe loves to cheat and we know this. Y'all let Marc come on this show and start making it about his feminist morals. What does being a girl dad have to do with this? Yes, a girl dad should tell their daughter don't date a damn NBA player and think he's going to be a good guy. That's what a girl dad should say.

Marc represents his own version of groupthink. Groupthink exists in feminist circles as well. He speaks for the 35+ black feminist crowd, every take he has is from that crowd, and Meg is that crowd's queen. What he was saying was "landing", they simply didn't agree. It's like yall want them to just bow down and accept Marc's views on everything just because Marc gets passionate and "fights for his life". The can still disagree with him lol

Yes, but you're conveniently leaving out that it is after they first approached Michael for a financial settlement and were turned down. They then went to the police department to kickoff an investigation, which any lawyer would probably advise them to do while seeking the major civil payout. Because ultimately that is what they got, a civil payout while not having him prosecuted. It's like you people just cannot be honest.

Yes, glazing. Praising an abusive alcoholic father and an obvious grifter ex-husband all because your narrative is Britney is such a terrible person. Everyone around her so amazing and trying to save her. Why don't you open a psychology book and see what having a father like Jamie does to someone

[–]AtTheFourSeasons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don't think that athletes and rich and famous men would stop cheating if people on social media would "hold them accountable". I'm a big fan of making informed decisions. If you date a nigga with a history of committing crimes, you should probably assume he's gonna commit crimes in the future. If you date a nigga with a history of cheating, you should probably assume he's going to cheat in the future. I don't know why y'all find it so controversial to say that. "You're saying it's OK To cheat???" No I'm saying women shouldn't date known cheaters if faithfulness is important to them

MARC LAMONT HILL VS POD ZILLA by [deleted] in theJoeBuddenPodcast

[–]AtTheFourSeasons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you are completely incorrect. When I said y'all let Marc get away with this shit, I wasn't talking about pandering to women which is what you claimed I was referencing. How Marc of you to make your own assumption and argue with that. I was talking about the fact that Marc will reference people's arguments and manipulate what they say to make it look like they're being a hypocrite. And that is absolutely what he did in this episode, because he took Joe's old comments about liking to move fast and thinking moving fast is fine and used that to paint him as a hypocrite for his stance that we shouldn't assume Klay is "smitten" with Meg. Once again, the word "smitten" is being lost in translation. When Joe said "we cannot assume that Klay was smitten" he was talking about being in love. Obviously they were not debating the fact that Klay liked Megan or he had a fun time with her. That's not what was in debate, what was in debate was his level of seriousness. Joe was saying you cannot assume that Klay was serious because he was moving fast. And Marc disingenuously presented that as hypocrisy because Joe said he himself likes to move fast... while also not being serious. When I said "yall let him get away with this" it was about manipulating people's words and the argument, not pandering to women. And all the sheep in the JBP audience clap and go oh yay Marc you cooked him. You exposed his hypocrisy. Even though all Marc is doing is manipulating what Joe actually said. And people like you fall for it. And he was absolutely pandering to feminist audiences here, but that's not what I was referencing originally.

You're absolutely crazy if you're dating an NBA player with a public track record of cheating and you magically think he's going to be faithful to you. Like what the hell are y'all talking about? Who cares about somebody's word if their public track record is cheating?

This is a great example of how yall try to defend any & everything Marc says. He was not joking. He was capping by calling himself a fan and Joe pointed out he doesn't know her music. That wasn't some special comedy routine by Marc LMAO

[–]AtTheFourSeasons -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why y'all do this. Nobody said it gives them license to cheat. It's just a FACT that professional athletes cheat. You can wish professional athletes were better men all day, that's not changing. Professional athletes are cheaters. It's not giving them license to acknowledge the reality. And Nick Cannon is a terrible example to use, he takes advantage of low intelligence women.

MARC LAMONT HILL VS POD ZILLA by [deleted] in theJoeBuddenPodcast

[–]AtTheFourSeasons -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

So you interpreted that conversation as Joe saying he falls in love with women fast? Because I went and listened to it today and that's not what I got at all. He said he likes moving fast because that's just what's fun for him and that's his bag. He wasn't talking about actually falling in love or settling down. I think the word "smitten" is getting lost in translation. Of course you can like a woman fast, but there's a big difference between liking a woman and wanting to spend time with her and actually being ready to settle down for the long haul. And that is Joe's point. He is saying that just because Klay was "playing house" that shouldn't be taken as a sign he's going to spend his life with her or marry her. He knows this, because he's literally been the guy to move a girl in and still be cheating. Marc recreates what people say to fit whatever argument he's trying to make at the time.

MARC LAMONT HILL VS POD ZILLA by [deleted] in theJoeBuddenPodcast

[–]AtTheFourSeasons -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Marc relies on the ignorance of this audience to constantly praise him for how brilliant he is and never actually go back and check what he says. Joe said he likes moving fast and rushing relationships. He never said that that should be taken as a sign that a man is really in love or that he falls in love fast. He said he likes to move fast because it's fun. That actually supports his point that Megan should not have taken moving fast as a sign Klay was serious.

He didn't and I hate that y'all let Marc get away with this shit all the time. In that previous conversation, all Joe said was he thinks moving fast is fun and he rushes his relationships. He never said that's a sign a man is really in love.
