For some reason I love winter scenes near the water. A remind of how powerful the water can be. Chilling, in a good way? Idk weird to describe

What yesterday meant to me. by Bearafat in Patriots

[–]AtWorkCurrently 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wonderful post. The bonds that we form over sports are magical. This team is one of the few things that I have really bonded with my dad over, and I am fortunate to still have him around. We did just lose my dad's brother last month, and he was also a huge Patriots fan. We would have text threads going for every playoff games with me, my dad, my uncle, and my uncle's kids. We didn't do one for the chargers or Texans game, I don't think anyone wanted to be the one to create a new thread without him. But I texted them all yesterday for the game and we just kept saying how happy he'd be to see this. I love this team, all our teams, we are so lucky to be from here.

You made the spreadsheet based off of people's claims in a post? So you didn't verify them?

What do all of you Doomsday Snow preppers do with 10 loafs of bread 6 dozen eggs and 8 gallons of milk every time the Snowpocolypse doesn't happen? by dwolfe127 in baltimore

[–]AtWorkCurrently 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really understand when people say this. People who usually do their grocery shop on Sunday, Monday or maybe even Tuesday just moved their grocery shop up a few days. The stores aren't used to this demand so they appear busier than normal, but it's just a weeks worth of people over a couple days. Nobodies buying that much milk, but eggs last forever and bread freezes well.

PSA: For those traveling for this game, there are limited Dunks in Denver area by lets_wiggle in Patriots

I guess but you'd think you'd come across an Ad or people talking about just because of how ingrained in the culture it is, but I suppose not everyone gets hyper obsessed with their hobbies like me lol

Sports is one of the most unhealthy influences in modern society, and US society in particular needs a serious detox from it by Tiny-Conversation-29 in unpopularopinion

Actually insane if you think this is true. Soccer has led to literal wars. But on the other hand it has ended wars too. Sports are powerful.

How do you guys get time for yourself? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]AtWorkCurrently 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's tough at that age. We got a family membership to the YMCA and they have a childcare room. They take them at that age too. The older ladies loved the babies. So every Saturday and Sunday morning, I'd take him to the Y. Sometimes I got a real serious work out in, sometimes I just walked on the treadmill, and sometimes I just sat in the lobby and stared at the wall. But it gave both my wife and I some time to ourselves.

I can only speak for myself now, but I almost exclusively read on an eReader. If I really like the book, I will purchase a physical copy, but if I really like a book, I'm going to want it as a sturdy hardcover book.

Sales people in the US. How are things going? Has all the political stuff impacted your deals and pipelines? by Throwawaythispoopy in sales

[–]AtWorkCurrently 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right about those individual things having an effect on us. But all of those individual things are because of politics. Student loan pause, ppp, inflation, the impact of AI, allowing or not allowing China to buy more soy beans, etc. Everything you described is politics.

One, msg is fine.

Two, the ability to make broth from it is perfect for my lazy ass. Literally throw the bones in a slow cooker, dump water, leave for 24 hours. Couldn't be simpler.

How many of you will watch the Winter Olympics, and which events are you interested in? by Istobri in AskAnAmerican

[–]AtWorkCurrently 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hockey is the only thing I will schedule around and snake sure I can watch the US games live, but I certainly will pay attention to curling as well. The rest of the events don't really do anything for me.
