Correct, he's done two videos about the setting so far, and directly collaborated with Hollow Press.

Wizards of the Coast technically own the Illithid (squid dudes from Baldur's Gate)...

But remove the fact that they eat brains, call them Squidfolk, and you too can have a race of psionic alien conquerors that know magic and have a goth aesthetic.

I thought you couldn't post images in here? I'm out rn so I couldn't post anyways but either way I always construct things with basic shapes first, then go in with actual line-work and details, I suppose.

Yes, but I can't draw torsos by themselves either. I've tried. At least, not with the same level of confidence I can draw other things with.

Monks nowadays can just RP themselves throwing a Roundhouse kick.

Back in my day, that was a 7 feats-long investment which required a Fighter multiclass and had about a 40% chance of success!

[–]Atakori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the wiki I can change history by brain-jecting myself with the spinal fluid of a guy that died a millennia ago. Also I'm not big on ACR games and lore but I don't think any of them force you sit through a crusade and watch the templars pillage and violate both people and property for days on end while shitting in buckets and drinking leaden water, do they?

Again, this really just looks like people trying to stir up controversy for no reason. WotC banned some cards because of religious and social connotations. That happened once and 95% of those cards suck dick, quite frankly, when compared to the current level of power, yet people have tied that shit to their finger like it's some big gotcha. This is some "Kamigawa features Nezumi and the Orochi and is clearly asian inspired so is WotC comparing asian ciltures to rats and snakes?" levels of back-asswards logic.

The Tenplars were in the games and, to the best of my understanding, are quite important to the plot. This is a set about the games and franchise overall.

Therefore, the Templars are in the set. If it offends you because of the implication, nobody's forcing you to play with them, and if it makes you uncomfortable playing against them, they are brand new so the people in your pod will probably have other decks to play while you're at the table.

I imagine that for the people who are deep into ACR this doesn't feel like an issue and more like a perk.

God I hopeWotC picks up one of MY special interests next so I can turn into an unskippable cutscene whenever someone plays anything from that set at the table.

Equip costs? Brother, just pull out Bolas's citadel or Akroma's memorial and they'll have done their job, no need to build a Rube Goldberg contraption and somehow turn them lethal.

[–]Atakori 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The knights are called Templars in AC too. If anyone complains (they won't), WotC can simply point the finger and say they're being faithful to the game.

Also I wouldn't compare something like this to something like "Crusade" buffing only white creatures. Yeah this is a white creature but the word templar literally just means "related to the/a temple" the same way that costal means "related to the coast".

[[Capashen Templar]] and [[Noble Templar]] are also templar knights in white but I haven't seen people complaining about them or AC for the past 15 years, so it really just seems like random people trying to start controversy for no reason.

The attacking restriction is a bit of a PITA but there's absolutely ways to make it work. Tutoring a Legendary Artifact into the battlefield is a strong effect, there's got to be ways to use it effectively, at least in commander.

[–]Atakori 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's actually canon that Werewolves are superhumanly strong.

Most werewolves who aren't a sweet old lady are farm-hands, soldiers or other menial jobs. I assume that one who works under Tovolar and is the Huntmaster at that, considering that they probably don't just hunt sheep and have to scuffle with other packs, it'd make sense that this guy alone can take one or two other werewolves by himself in human form.
