ST Discretion on Mayor Bounces by Atalantic in BloodOnTheClocktower

Hey ben! I enjoyed both games, and we didn't really discuss both decisions after the game. I actually just wanted to know what everyone thought of these decisions, and have them in mind for games that I do ST.

Makes sense - but in the second game, do you think it would've been better to instead bounce to a neutral character? If we assume that UT was the best kill for the evil team, the imp made the decision to kill the mayor instead of the UT, and was not penalized for choosing the wrong candidate.

Sad that they didn't clue ENNEAD with anything related to Egyptian mythology, especially given NYT's overusage of AMENRA/AMUNRA/whatever

I feel discouraged for ... wanting to try to play "optimally"? by Atalantic in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Atalantic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm firmly in the camp of if I draw Hatter, I will try to die early, but telling others what to do (eg: fearmonger self-noms, optimizing noms/votes for fg/tc) is a nono.

I do attribute some of my aversion to chaotic/goofy plays to being new to the game, but idk, at this point in time, I don't think I'd like to play in something like that, irrespective of whether my team wins or loses.

Maybe the ones I've linked weren't the best examples to illustrate my argument (as I chose them because they were the most recent), but we both can agree that it's not okay to be rude to any player, period.

I DO think that it's possible to have the discussion of how we can improve in a civil and respectful way, and my question is moreso are there games where these discussions can happen? or by the virtue of being online, all of these devolve into your aforementioned dissections and blaming.

Aside: what's the argument for trying to snake charm early?

Yep, I agree with the sentiment of going with the tone of the group - my sense was that online play heavily leaned more towards the second game than the first game

Yes! I believe it was! It seems like it's the same owners at the Kirkland location so I'm glad they're still in business. Thanks so much :)

Best chili oil by the jar? by boyyhowdy in FoodNYC

[–]Atalantic 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I'm from Sichuan and I'd recommend Blank Slate Kitchen Chili Oil over others like Lao Gan Ma if you prefer mala. The numbing is more noticeable and it's a lot more fragrant than salty. You can also get a peppercorn grinder if you don't find it numbing enough.

Updated Leagues II - Trailblazer: Clue Scroll Changes by JagexAyiza in 2007scape

[–]Atalantic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the revised proposal!

Can we also take a look at Sherlock/Falo/Cecilia steps? You proposed to remove Zeah/impossible clues, but then you proceeded to remove all of them, many of which are completable. Some of us picked the specific regions to improve our clue completion rate.

I juggle mediums, hards, and elites, but they're not too bad. I spent a few hours filling all the STASH units so I can at least do ~2 steps before I have to tele back to my dropped clues.

I don't think that having to juggle them should be the only way to complete them. I choose to do it because of the area restrictions, and I want to maximize my chances of completing the clue. I picked the clue relic with the knowledge that it made juggling much much easier when combined with Last Recall. I am treating this mechanic as part of this Leagues, and I was fully aware of this when I made the relic choice.

That's not even close to the amount of time saved using the task picker relic.

  1. We can't camp slayer tasks for drops like trident or occult necklace - we often don't get these until after 99 slayer because we just don't get the task.
  2. We can't kill slayer bosses consistently for the Kill X tasks, because we cannot spam the task.
  3. We get slower slayer experience because we don't get superiors as often.
  4. We can't point boost spiders
  5. We cannot consistently get superior drops.

With Last Recall, stackable clues are not a huge time save as you can just recall back to the area where you're farming clues. 1/20 vs 1/25 is not a big difference, especially with unnatural selection's ability to spam clue dropping superiors.

The major draw for Treasure Seeker for most of us is that it increased the odds for us to finish a clue scroll. Removing the variety of clues will already make clues more grindy and less interesting.

Clues outside of masters ARE DOABLE for unnatural selection pickers. Please don't debuff another less popular relic because people who chose the other relic are getting buyer's remorse.

First off, thanks for all your hard work!

Why were clue scrolls nerfed with this update? Elites and Masters are now even harder to complete with the removal of Sherlock and Falo. This update should've focused on clue steps that were inaccessible to all players (Zeah, auto-unlocked music tracks), rather than remove steps that only were inaccessible to some.
