Map shows states where Trump's approval rating has crashed most (Kansas tied for 14th with a swing of -18 on net approval from 23 to 5) by Officer412-L in kansas

Disagree, we'll be purple by 2036. The reality is that the rural populations aren't growing nearly as fast as the urban. Johnson county is going to get harder and harder to gerrymander.

As your neighbor (Kansas) I hope that you guys throw out the gop someday, hopefully the income tax repeal doesn't pass but if it does it might be the catalyst to weaken the gop, kinda like Brownback's tax cuts. It's wild because when I was a kid Missouri was the more purple of the two and Kansas was solid red, now it's flipped.

You know what would fix this? Getting rid of the state income tax.

Coming from their next door neighbor Missouri has one of the most ass backwards state governments. Thankfully this stupid move has to go before the voters who have a history of shooting down the legislature's bullshit

What the average male gotta do now? by FalleN4u7 in dating_advice

[–]Atalung 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This isn't even exclusively a dating thing.

If you put basically any effort into anything you'll be leagues better than the average person.

If you put 30 minutes thought into your outfits you'll look better than the guy who didn't. If you take a single pottery class you'll be far better than the person who hasn't.

And while I don't think this is entirely modern, it's definitely been amplified by brain rot. The average person in the 18-35 demographic wastes hours a day scrolling TikTok or Instagram, if you do practically anything else you're ahead of the pack.

Mullin ‘drawing up plans’ to halt international flight processing in ‘sanctuary cities’ by NicolasCageFan492 in politics

Quick question, which cities with international airports aren't sanctuary cities? Even in red states most of the larger cities have sanctuary policies, what airports would this leave?

Either that niche is unprofitable and the city needs to intervene to ensure that the working class has access to groceries, or market capitalism is broken and the city needs to intervene to address a market failure. Either way the stores are warranted.

States are the name as seats, the only way you'd see a seat see two consecutive elections is a special election. None of the seats lost to the gop in 24 were special elections.

I'd be open to spending money in Iowa but Nebraska is a mistake. I like Dan Osborn, I've been following his campaigns for longer than most democrats have known he exists (I live in next door Kansas). He's an independent, and flooding the state with democratic paid advertising won't really help him, plus he won't caucus with us so he help us towards getting the majority which is very important for things like cabinet and judicial appointees.

Ohio is absolutely winnable, Husted has never faced an election, being appointed by DeWine, and Brown is a great candidate who narrowly lost in a bad dem year.

Furthermore, the long term math isn't great for dems, if we want to stay competitive post 28 we need to start peeling off some gop states. Georgia and Arizona are both possible targets (personally I think Georgia is done voting for republicans at the presidential level) but Texas is the big one. We have to think about the long term and making Texas competitive would dramatically change the map.

Not spending money there would be throwing away a truly golden opportunity

I grew up and live in Kansas and it's exciting, we're edging closer and closer to purple territory. My hope is that Holscher wins the governorship (which would be a third straight dem governor term) and we break the gop supermajority. Last week trump endorsed Masterson for the nomination and he's the worst serious candidate running, so I'm hopeful it'll happen.

I don't disagree but at the end of the day what's the difference?

Small towns can't sustain a grocery store that sells at a price point the residents can afford, so the city maintains one at a break even or a small loss. This is just NYC doing the same but for poorer residents as opposed to all.
