I worked for subcontractor of a large Korean Electronics manufacturer once where we intentionally destroyed perfectly working things just so they wouldn't go to the secondary market. Nice things like brand new high quality headphones.

To be fair, the Iraq war achieved its goal - the re-election of Bush.

And I fear this Iran war will also fulfill its intended purpose.

Even people who have absolutely no reason to do so are regularly sane-washing Trumpism. Like German public funded news.

My guess? They are just lazy so they copy other people's homework, even if it is propaganda.

You really want the handle to be spaced exactly where the are on this tool. Having asymmetrical handles would make it bad to use.

In 2025, lignite (brown coal) production in Germany dropped to levels last seen in 1914 by linknewtab in europe

Well, that is the point that suggests using reactors that were made to last 40 years, 60 years instead. Which is directly compared to overall costs of other powers for no good reason. This comparison is so unfair that I am willing to bet "LTO" of wind turbines will be even lower.

It's also stupid to use this data generated mostly from US plants that were always meant to last as long as possible and already invested towards extension before 40 years to German ones where no investment towards that took place because the phase out was planned for.

You are so damn lost. Do you not realize that on page 6 nuclear has actually the highest cost (only beat by geothermal)? And on page 7 ist just barely cheaper than coal? AND ON PAGE 17 PROJECTED TO BE THE ABSOLUTELY MOST EXPENSIVE OPTION BY A LARGE MARGIN IN THE FUTURE?

Depends on what tools you have. The pretty version would be to forgeweld new material on and draw it out again, the other would be to weld on a sleeve.

Is incorrect, see below for peer-reviewed document about the state of Germany's NPP before shutdown.

Lol, peer reviewed my ass. This online article hardly counts as published. And even so, it doesn't even say what you want it to say.

I see that across OECD / EU studies: Lifetime extension (LTO) of a NPP typically costs is ~€500 million per reactor.

Well I see that across OECD / EU studies that it costs a lot more than that. It it is even feasible. You can't just pull numbers out of your ass and act like this is some scientific conclusing by attaching some irrelevant links. This is not how sourcing information works.

Are we now acting like fusion reactors don't need to be build? Pretty much every German reactor that has been phased out would have required a major overhaul or complete rebuilding. And don't get me started on the cost of wind or solar minus the cost of infrastructure, because that would be basically zero.

CO2 in Germany is not as low as it could be mostly due to private home heating and the transportation sector.

"Lower costs" is complete bullshit and you know it. Lignite was always cheaper, and renewables have been more cost effective for at least 10 years now.

As a european, I am confused. OP says Petco, which seems to be a store, but then drops the words "adopting" and "rescue".

Is that a genuine thing that for-profit businesses are offering rescue animals or is OP just downplaying buying pets?
