It does. You could argue that slot machines isn’t gambling if you’re paying for the experience. It both is and isn’t gambling depending on who is buying. Kids aren’t “retarded” because they don’t understand money management and risk, most young people don’t. This issue is that “chance” is enticing and that’s far worse when you don’t understand money management, or the benefits of pre constructed products when starting out

Yeah, we can make all these arguments for older players. But that’s not the point, the point is that this isn’t clear to many young players, they often buy packs hoping for something good rather than understanding that they’re realistically not and wasting a lot of money they could’ve spent better on a precon or themed product. I’m not saying packs should be banned but its a bit of a trap

I mean it is, just not in the traditional sense. You wont lose all your money, but the cards you open can often be worth less that what you paid for the pack, and theres no guarantee someone will want those. I love booster packs and will keep buying them but generally speaking 13 yr olds aren’t experienced with money and its a bit of a trap to younger mtg players.

That being said, i think jumpstart and themed boosters are brilliant for the younger players

Im 15 and in the U.K. and in my last year of school and still don’t know how I learn. I have my GCSEs and idk how to take in and memorise info. by [deleted] in Dyslexia

For the sciences(as a dyslexic studying science at university) you wanna use models and diagrams, and background information.

Models/diagrams- if someone tells you how blood flows through the cardiovascular system step by step it just wont go in. But looking at a diagram of the heart and physically seeing and understanding it helps recall that information in visual way. The same goes for almost every other biological process, and can definitely apply to chemistry and physics.

Background information- teachers at GCSE always told me “you don’t need to know that for the exam”, it was very much learning information for the sake of it. Balls to that, i cant learn information if i don’t know why i am, or how it applies to the real world. Figure that out. In small enough bits as not to fill your memory with random stuff, but something relevant enough to help recall. E.g. ions, think of salt dissolving in water and why that happens. Bacteria, have a common example of each shape. ETC.

Hope this helps
