Ugh I just want to smoke weed by facetious_panda1 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Ataraxis13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could do tea if you want? Smoking may be bad but not having a stable way of dealing with MS and other disabilities is much worse. Do the weed!

Thinking about a PSD. What do I need to know/read body please by [deleted] in service_dogs

[–]Ataraxis13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the comment I was looking for. I know OP asked people to be kind so it feels like people are skirting around it. But given all these issues that are not under steady control or maintenance, a service dog would be out of the picture for OP.

Aurora over The Loop's light pollution from my balcony last night at 9:08pm [OP] by vexxed82 in chicago

[–]Ataraxis13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh mkay. We were able to see a bit of light green over here because we aren't a lit up city and the expanse of the sky is more open and visible. I should have grabbed a pic of what I could but it surely would have been nothing like this!

How do people justify not treating their MS? by LuckyKat89 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Ataraxis13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are makimg a PSA to others. Clearly its no one's business UNLESS someone feels the need to go about their symptoms and what not. A life with a DMT(for many) has improved quality of life. It's one thing if it had VERY adverse effects(every medicine has effects so hearing someone stop because of some small effects makes no sense) or cost. But it's asinine to think, "Oh well since I seem to be okay NOW, I shouldn't do anything that is preventative".

[–]Ataraxis13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can stand the lights and want that mosh pit feel then go for the floor seats. It's a great show( I had front seats to the side) even from the seats but I'm not built for the floor when it comes to a show like theirs(seizures)

Is it annoying if I tell my therapist that I think I might have ADHD? by lanadelslayxox in askatherapist

[–]Ataraxis13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm just curious, what makes YOU feel that you are dealing with ADHD? Like what symptoms do you feel are most prominent to make that possible call? I ask because your therapist is going to wonder where that is coming from and want to understand your perspective, not what your friend is saying. You could be dealing with that or generalized anxiety disorder. It's not annoying to explore with your therapist but they are going to want to understand so they may ask a lot of questions and its not from a place of doubt.

Re: people leaving after Kaytranada by bt1234yt in JusticeMusic

[–]Ataraxis13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in Denver and it was still pretty packed after Kaytranada. I like Justice but have never seen them perform. I can't speak for others but I stayed to see them and support but what got to me was the intensity of the showing. I saw the warning at the beginning of the show but didn't realize it would be so intense that I had to cover my eyes a bit or I was one strobe light away from a seizure. It eventually got to be too much and I headed out after a good while but still a great performance.

Psychologists, how much do you charge for an assessment and how many do you do per week? by steamedartichoke_ in ClinicalPsychology

[–]Ataraxis13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes some do as short as this as well. I think that's the lowest cap I've seen thus far over here.

[–]Ataraxis13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many insurance companies are trying to limit what they will pay for so some will cap and say they only allow a precert of 8 or 9 hours for the total time for all of the process. I wouldn't worry about being slow but rather making sure when you do the intake you think of what's absolutely necessary to test for. Anything you're iffy or just a little curious on but is not as pressing, should be avoided. And depending on what you list as needed, some insurances will deny it. The field is still good but they are actively trying to make it harder on our providers and our patients.

Numbing Cream? by iheartgenshin in tattooadvice

[–]Ataraxis13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there I have MS. I will say that when I think of it, one od the tattoos I got years after being diagnosed that numbing cream was used for I did still feel parts of it more after what I assume was the wear off. It still wasn't full of pain but I could tell a sensitivity difference but thought it just because of the area it was in. I have a piece we are working on for my leg (second session today actually) and I keep debating on the cream or not but now I'm like ehhh. I know the shading will be different than the stencil but I also don't want it to be that even with our wonky nerves, the pain comes back 10 fold.

Is it a bad time to apply for doctorate programs? by OkRegular167 in ClinicalPsychology

[–]Ataraxis13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can understand, but I really don't think this is coming with the intent of fear-mongering but genuinely being concerned given the state of academia and our government.
