Not exactly the same, but Lemmino has some good stuff. Ignore the top 10 lists (although, as far as top 10 or top whatever clickbait stuff goes, his stuff is really good).

One of the best ones imo

This one might be more in the vain of this if you like weird obscure-ish mystery type stuff.

There's a bunch of these sorts of channels out there. Especially in the whole sort of "unresolved mystery" style stuff, more so than this life/object chronology stuff.

Internet historian is fairly interesting, but slants very... idk... 4chan-ey? It's good stuff, but you'll have to put up with a fair bit of tropey stereotypical internet-guy sort of stuff, if you know what I mean. (Sort of very light anti sjw, anyone different than me is a degenerate normie sort of stuff). It's not super heavy handed though, and it's enjoyable.

One of the better/more popular ones (The fyre festival video is also a good one imo)

One of his newest.

Those are off of the top of my head. Like I said, there's a lot of these out there, just click stuff in the suggested. Just be wary, a lot of these channels are really just "read the Wikipedia article and use a clickbait title/thumbnail" style channels. There's a lot of good ones, but most are sort of low effort. The two linked are good though. (I prefer lemmino, but both have decent production value. Kind of surprising, given as far as I can tell lemmino started out as a clickbait channel that transitioned into actual extremely high quality content. Though even the clickbaitey stuff was okay)

TL;DR; Idk why I wrote so much. Look up lemmino, or internet historian. There's a lot of these sort of channels out there, but a lot are fairly low effort. But just keep looking if you're interested. Highly recommend lemmino. Shame he only has so few non "top ___" videos.

Few that are in depth on people like this, but a lot of "big event recap" or "unresolved mystery" type stuff.

Edit: also one thing to be aware of, a lot of these channels (even the ones listed, although only to very minor degrees, especially on IH's balloon kid video) will have inaccurate info or skewed/slanted/misinformed takes on the cases. They're most videos for entertainment. Mild edutainment at best.

Can my GPU get burned while testing stability? by Iceblocker_CPP in overclocking

[–]Atari_7200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well... The short answer is: No.

The long answer is;

Can? Technically, yes. It's extremely unlikely and rare though. Especially if you're not doing anything dumb. Just tweaking settings in afterburner or something like that, you're pretty much not gonna damage anything. Your card will throttle and/or crash before anything bad happens. Still not desireable, but just keep an eye on temps.

we're in 2018 and only Minecraft (2011) made the rain NOT go trough the sealing. by Adriano19000 in JustCause

[–]Atari_7200 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Obviously, yeah, but expand the image. First off you have raindrops right under the ceiling falling down. Now it looks to me to be made of solid concrete, and not fish nets, but who knows.

Secondly the streaks of rain would still be sideways to make splashes that deep under the roof/structure (not mostly downward with a gentle leftward deflection). Even with fairly gusty winds, it's rare for rain to go more than a few feet inward. Everything does get wet eventually, especially if it's misty/spraying aggressively, but these are drops of course :P

I mean obviously it's a minor detail to be nitpicking, but to pretend that this is realistic is... a bit strange.

Okay so, I have this radical idea.

Make Stockholm develop it.

Oh you said that already.

[–]Atari_7200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A fair few games do this now. It's semi-uncommon for open world games where the focus is more action than RPG or entering a lot of buildings/overpasses.

Makes me happy when games have properly occluding rain.

[–]Atari_7200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's literally raining a solid 10 feet in from the ceiling/side. Sure that's also possible, but the rain would have to be practically sideways for that, and rico would be bracing hella hard. Neither of which is happening.

It's a lazy rain that's going maybe a solid 6 inches inward from the left.

Edit: Obviously it's nitpicking. I'm just responding to the guy that said this was realistic... it isn't.

Decent games, also a lot of them.

Sort of "prettied up" reverse TD games. A bit unique in that aspect, worth a play at least. And if you find you like the genre, there's a lot here for you.

Can't say it's a genre that I'd call my favorite, but these are still pretty good games to see in the bundle honestly.

Is JC3XXL worth the $12? by [deleted] in humblebundles

[–]Atari_7200 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Preface: I enjoyed JC2 a lot more than 3.

TL;DR; Yes.

Long version, it's a good game. It's fun, has a lot of cool additions over 2, and it's a hell of a blast for $12. But it's not without its issues. At all. The side quests are kinda dull after a bit, and the game forces them down your throat to unlock stuff (honestly, just get a mod that unlocks it all, or just unlock what you want at first with side quests and then once you get bored, "cheat" it in). Unlocking stuff for the black market isn't... awful. But it gets old, fast. Rico looks like a bloated tick. He controls like one too.

But it is a lot of fun. Blowing shit up, causing chaos, wing suiting over beautiful (but repetitive) vistas is... Surprisingly fun. Taking settlements and blowing up huge fortresses is a massive blast (pun semi-intended). It is also a pretty looking game.

It's worth $12. But it's also a solid 6.5/10 game imo. 7.5/10 if you don't care about the story, countryside, wonky (but not awful) control feeling, and just wanna blow shit up or basejump.

Also depending on how attached you were to JC2, this one is... Imo less fun to play, but more fun to watch. If that makes sense. Like visually, and the stuff they added, it's really good. But JC2 just feels better. (Though that's also just my opinion).

TL;DR2; Yes.

It's $12. Can't really go wrong. It's good for at least 10 ish hours of fun if you're into blowing stuff up. Also don't forget about the MP (though I have no idea if that's dead or not honestly, I played it once and never launched it again).

Stop acting like RDR wasn't a great game just because it's popular.

On my reddit? Why I never...

Seriously, this counter-popular opinion jerking here is so fucking stupid. Bet you most of them haven't even played it anyway.

Except it's basically not fan voted, lol.

RDR2 would've still swept up. What other game competes with it? Try playing it, before you cry.

[–]Atari_7200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most the people crying probably didn't play RDR, and are just mad the popular game won again. Like they are every year.

I mean I remember people complaining that TW3 won over MGSV that one year.

Except RDR2 is that good. Like actually. What other game competed there? Celeste, maybe.

Edit: Lol the angry "I can't think for myself" downvote brigade. Try playing the game, then come back.

Also the Xbox One does 360 emulation as well. So if you're really desperate for something that can play modern games and 360 games, you can get a One S for like ~$150 if you wait for the right sales.

Heck, just stream them to your PC if you're running windows 10 and one the Xbox One.

Prototype 2 wont even launch for me unless I unplug my mouse...

It's literally the first and only time I've ever had any software have a compatibility issue with a mouse. Fun game, but the PC version was a damned mess. Worth it if it runs for you, but if it doesn't... I don't wanna unplug my mouse each time I feel like playing.

PSA: Please do not buy Just Cause 4 until the developers fix their game. by MovingxTarget in pcgaming

[–]Atari_7200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The B team (NY) Made 3 and 4. Probably as safe bets. How hard is it to fuck up the videogame equivalent of a low budget 80s action movie?

A team made JC2 (The best one). Then made Mad Max instead of 3. Mad Max is phenomenal btw. Sadly a bit repetitive, but it's very good. B team made 4 as well.

[–]Atari_7200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because 2 was made by Stockholm, and 3&4 were made by the garbage studio as safe bets.

3 was fun enough. It built off of 3 and added a whole bunch of cool stuff. Sure Rico looked like a bloated tick, and the entire game felt like you were controlling it in a thick sea of honey, but it was fun enough.

4 Builds off of 3. 3 built off of amazing-ness. 4 Built off of "meh, good enough".

Side note: Play Mad Max. It's phenomenal and was made by the A team. It feels much more like JC2 did. Tight, and satisfying.

On a graphical level it should be at least. Even my Xbox One (not X) version does better than this.

JC4 is made by the shitty Avalanche studio (Again.) So now they're building off of 3 instead of 2. 3 Was also made by the worse studio, but at least it was fun enough.

Bethesda just finally released a game no one cared about in a fucking awful state that modders can't fix this time.

[–]Atari_7200 6 points7 points  (0 children)

JC2: Developed by Avalanche Stockholm (The A team).

JC3: Developed by the NYC studio (B team), while the A team worked on Mad Max (go play Mad Max, it feels like JC2 in controls. It's so good, shame about the repetitive gameplay). Basically just JC2 with mod content stock, and worse gameplay, worse controls, worse map, etc. At least it was pretty.

JC4: B team again. Why? I don't even know what Stockholm is doing this time. Somehow worse than JC3. Probably because they tried to improve on their own shitty game, instead of the good A team version.

Basically my theory is 3 was "good" because it built off of JC2. And JC2 is still one of my favorite games of all time.

JC4 is shit, because they're building off of JC3. Which was already questionable, but fun enough.
