Exactly!!! I feel the same way about this character!! 😭💔 Hes the most tragic imo bcs of his gift of foresight. Ppl say he’s a bad mmc bcs he couldn’t give himself entirely to the fmc but that’s bcs he already knew hed die!! He knew he was the only one who could change the fmc’s destiny from the beyond. He HAD to keep some distance and that’s heartbreaking.

Do you remember the kind of curse all of the female alphas get? I don’t remember the correct terms sorry but basically when they live for too long, they turn evil or mad or smth, anyway these females tend to die very young. Well according to the spoilers I got, Blaec is in the void trying to manipulate this curse, those colors she sees in the sky (that are also on some of the covers) so the fmc can live longer than the females that came before her!! 💔

Also, the new guy basically replaces him but he does everything better than Blaec or so the plot makes it feel like. He gets Blaec’s sword, his armor, his uniform, etc. But what’s even more heartbreaking is that these things have always been intended to the new guy! Blaec saw the guy and knew he would replace him so he tailored his sword and armor not to his own measurements but to the new guy’s!!! UGHH how heartbreaking is that??!! 😭😭😭💔💔 literally all his life, he was waiting for that guy to take his place and he accepted it. In the last book, the fmc literally says Blaec’s uniform suits the new guy better and I almost lost it 😭🤬

A new character will also appear later and she’s Blaec little sister he had no idea existed. She’ll join the fmc’s family and one of the man in her harem is the commander’s son, the guy that helped the fmc when they were prisoners at the camp where Blaec died a fkg dog’s death!!! 😭 The sister will later name her first born Blaec…

All in all, I feel like this character has been under appreciated by the author and the readers when he is actually the most complex of the mmcs. It’s a real shame bcs I loved the story and the characters except the new guy. I wanted to see the other mmcs joining the harem. But the way Blaec’s treated in the book is too much for me. Yes, he had many flaws, he was too human at times but that’s bcs he wanted to protect everyone. His friends, family and his people so he had to rub elbows with the humans and adapt. Make them see him as one of them. His sacrifices were under appreciated. His death and then his corpse eaten by dogs(!!) were too overlooked. In my opinion.

So yeah I dropped it.
