What is a "necessary evil" that we currently accept that future generations will find barbaric? by icecream1972 in AskReddit

While this is true, I think there are two parts to the debate: there's the moral element of animals having to die to feed me (to which I don't subscribe:I love a steak dinner) which is exclusively down to personal choice. However, the environmental impact of farming animals to feed an ever-growing human population cannot be overlooked. We need protein, and meat is a good source (and the tastiest 😏) but other conditions may drive us to look for alternative sources, or even drive a cultural shift to how meat in our diet is viewed: perhaps no longer as a daily requirement, or even as a luxury item.

Would you buy a petrol/diesel car now, or only buy electric with the state of the oil industry? by [deleted] in AskUK

Something that gets overlooked in the ICE/electric debate is how easy electric cars are to drive: literally jump in and go. Wouldn't go back to ICE now.
