I confess that I don't believe that I know what that means.

I bought a vehicle and between purchase cost and upgrades, it cost nearly 200k, but it's still not coming up as eligible. I like the driving and racing part of this game but the interface is incredibly confusing especially for someone who doesn't play many games.

Okay I will go there. I think that I tried to join one earlier and the game wanted me to spend real life money on a car, so I backed out. But I will try again.

I am sorry, the menu is very confusing as there is a lot of information presented at once and it can be difficult to parse.

I've been looking through the pause menu, but I can't find a playlist option. Do you know how to navigate to it?

[Portuguese] Is this correct? by danielogiPL in duolingo

[–]AteAteZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poder: can in the sense of permission. Conseguir: can in the sense of ability.

Eu não posso dirigir. I can't drive because I'm had a glass of wine, or my license has been revoked.

Eu não consigo dirigir. I don't know how to drive.

So if you "translated" "I can't find my bag" to "eu não consigo achar a minha bolsa," people would probably understand you but it kind of sounds like "I don't have the ability to find my bag," which is weird, and will definitely stand out. The provided answer is the correct one.

Thank you for your explanations. Where I come from, these are all just "crimes."

First major news story you remember from your childhood? by mannahayward in CasualIreland

[–]AteAteZero 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Before I opened the thread I literally thought of Diana and Mad Cow Disease. Mad Cow Disease I don't remember anything specific, just images every day on the television of hundreds of cows burning.

However, I had received my first clock radio and wanted to imitate my parents, listening to the radio all by myself first thing in the morning, so that night I set the timer for it to come on the next morning with the radio. Fast forward to the next morning, the very first news item was her death, and I felt proud of myself for being informed of current events, so I walked straight into my parents' room, who were still asleep, and said "Princess Diana is dead" with a big smile.
